As the noise pollution becoming more and more serious,to improve the quality of sound environment in China,we must develop a new noise reduction materials.Ultrafine glass fibers has a great performance on sound insulation and attracted much attention in recent years,they have important application value in the fields of architecture,transportation and Aeronautics and Astronautics.The sound insulation performance of fibrous material not only depends on the morphology of the component of fibers,the morphology of fibers,density,porosity,the diameter,stiffness and content of adhesive of single glass fiber also have important influence on the sound insulation property of ultrafine glass fiber felt.Therefore,starting from the filament angle,explore the sound insulation mechanism of ultrafine glass fiber felt under different factors has a great significance.In this paper,ultrafine glass fiber felts are fabricated by flame spraying process,scanning electron microscope were used to observe the micromorphology of ultrafine glass fiber felt,the sound insulation and mechanical properties are measured by the transmission function sound absorption coefficient measurement system and the universal material testing machine.By exploring the influence of filament fiber’s diameter and adhesive content on filament strength and stiffness,analysis the vibration mechanism of filament and master the sound attenuation of acoustic wave on filament.Then analysis the influence of structural parameters of ultrafine glass fiber felt on sound insulation performance,and the sound insulation mechanism of ultrafine glass fiber felt was discussed.Finally,the acoustic characteristics of felt with different fiber diameter were simulated with COMSOL software,and verify the experimental results.The main research work of this paper are as follows:(1)With the decrease of glass fiber filament diameter and the increase of adhesive content,the tensile strength of filament increases,and the stiffness decreases.When the sound wave propagates in glass fiber filament,the energy of filament vibration loss increases,and the sound attenuation increases.(2)The influence of the basic parameters of felt on the sound insulation and mechanical properties was studied.The results show that: the smaller the fiber diameter,the better the sound insulation and mechanical properties of the felt.Spraying adhesive on felt can effectively improve the sound insulation and mechanical properties of the felt.The results show that the sound insulation property is best when the adhesive content is 10%.The sound insulation performance of felt increaseswith the increase of the weight and thickness of the felt,but the mechanical properties are almost invariable.(3)Based on the simulation analysis of felt with different fiber diameters,the result show that the smaller the fiber diameter,the faster of sound pressure drop,indicate the larger the sound insulation volume of felt is,we found that the simulation result is according with experiment result.
