With the air pollution becoming more and more severer,the demand of air filter has increased rapidly.Filter material,as a major part of the filtration,is the key point to impact the precision of an air filter.Developing high performance air filter materials has already becoming a focus of many researchers.In this paper,glass fiber felts with the properties of low resistance and high strength are fabricated by flame blowing process incorporation with curing system spraying adhesive,which can efficiently make up the defects of the existing filter materials,including low filtration efficiency,high filtration resistance,low strength,poor temperature resistant and short service life,etc.Improving its comprehensive performance and expanding its application scope,especially in the area of PM 2.5filtration,have momentous market value and practical significance.The filtration and mechanics characteristics of glass fiber felts depend not only on the component,morphology and diameter of the fiber,but also the thickness,density,stacking way,pore structure and fiber wrap-mode of the felts.While the properties of the glass fiber felts were characterized by filter performance testing system,numerical air permeability tester use instruction and universal material testing machine,the structure morphology and filter characteristics were tested via scanning electron microscope and optical microscope,which can provide experimental guide and theoretical support for the design,exploitation and practical application.The main research work of this paper are as follows:1?Proposed a way to prepare glass fiber felts,which contains flame blowing process and curing system spraying adhesive.The internal structure of glass fiber felts appears three-dimensional network and the cross section appears laminated.Variation coefficient(CV)of thickness and weight are 5.3% and 7.2% respectively.It can intercept and capture PM2.5 effectively with superb evenness.2?The property of the fiber felts are optimal under the parameter of 2?m for fiber diameter,1.6cm for felt thickness,20Kg/m3 for felt density and 20% for adhesive content.Under this circumstances,the filtration efficiency of the felt is 86.2%,the filtration resistance is 11.0pa,air permeability is 180.63mm/s and tear strength is 1834.6N/m.3?Glass fiber felts were treated for different hours at different temperatures.Results showed that the highest service temperature of felts is 240?,under which the felts are able to maintain high filtering efficiency,stable permeability as well as high tear strength for a long time.
