The Study On Inheritance Development And Protection Of "Beimianwawa" In Yangcheng,Shanxi

The “Beimianwawa” of Yangcheng is a folk dough statues full of local characteristics,as well as a kind of important national intangible cultural heritage.However,it has been faced many serious issues in inheritance and development with the change of society and times.This paper takes “Beimianwawa” as the object of study,from the visual field of folklore and adopts several measures such as fieldwork and oral history in order to research the creation,historical development,production process and heritage protection of “Beimianwawa”,as well as its scientific development methods in the contemporary.The emergence of “beimianwawa” in Yangcheng is closed linked to local natural environment and humanity environment.Therefore,this paper makes a detailed discussion and analysis on “beimianwawa” and its living environment.Meanwhile,this paper uses the structure of historical development to comb the development process of “Beimianwawa”,and makes a detailed analysis on its difficulties and opportunities faced in modern development.As a sole baked dough statue,the making tools and modellings have unique regional and cultural characteristics.“beimianwawa” is always served as a gift from mother to her new married daughter on July 15 and the existence of this present has various effects in daily life.Although there are some similar customs in Shanxi and surrounding areas,“beimianwawa” has more unique modellings and significances compared with other steamed dough statue.Therefore,“beimianwawa” has a very important research value.Although China pays more and more attention to intangible cultural heritage in recent years,it is very difficult for “beimianwawa” to protect because of its complex manufacturing process and the lack of practical value.Through the analysis on the survival status of inheritance people and the measures on intangible cultural heritage's protection of China,this paper discusses the change and problem on contemporary inheritance of “beimianwawa” and puts forward a protection measure corresponding to local actual condition based on the discussion,in order to provide assistance on the sustainable development of “beimianwawa”.
