The Application Research Of The Chinese Zodiac Pattern On Leisure Men's Wear Design

As a unique cultural symbol,the Chinese zodiac,which is a custom that never dies,has gone through one cycle after another with the form of animal totems.Its broad and profound connotation and rich modeling,which can feed the fresh leaves like a giant tree,continuously give modern art design inestimable influence.The research on the application of the Chinese zodiac in modern art design has become more and more mature,but the theoretical research and concrete practice in clothing are not perfect.The development potential of the casual men's market has become increasingly prominent.How to design comfortable casual men's wear which has Chinese cultural characteristics has become a focus issue for designers.This thesis summaries the artistic features of the zodiac in folk art combining the technique of clothing with the redesigned zodiac patterns,and makes the zodiac pattern and casual men's clothing collide and merge to show a unique style.Therefore,this paper has important significance and application value.This thesis is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter introduce mainly the background and the research status of this topic in macroscopic perspective,including the purpose and significance of the research.This chapter also confirm the main content,the research methods,the innovation and difficulties points of this research.The second chapter mainly summarizes the origin,cultural connotation,image evolution and modeling inheritance of the zodiac.The third chapter summarizes and analyses the artistic features,the cultural language,pattern composition,shape expression,folk symbol and auspicious meaning of Chinese zodiac in folk art.As the one of key chapter,the fourth chapter is an important transition from theory to practice,which turn the zodiac pattern into the material in the design field by using certain modelling method,including paring down,adding methods,combination,exaggerated deformation.The fifth chapter studies the forms and techniques of the Chinese zodiac patterns in casual men's wear and discusses the application of the zodiac pattern in the styles of casual men's wear.Through the design practice of Chinese zodiac elements on casual men's wear,the sixth chapter provide practical support and illustrate the way of innovative application of casual menswear by using Chinese zodiac.The seventh chapter is the conclusion of this paper.This paper applies the Chinese zodiac,which carries Chinese culture,to the design of menswear by combining theory with practice.It is hoped that the research of this paper can contribute some valuable information to the application of Chinese zodiac culture in costume design,inject new elements to the development of clothing design,and bring a broader development prospect to the clothing design.
