Application On Differential Pattern Design On The Children’s Textile

As China’s textile industry has rapidly developed,the consumers’ material pursuit gradually transformed into a spiritual pursuit.Integration and innovation of the textile products,such as tradition and modern,nature and humanity,arts and technology,the subjective and objective,the individual and the public and other diversified design,are getting the favor of consumers.Meanwhile,with the advent of the second-child policy in China,increasing number of children will enlarge the demand for textiles,which will bring the unprecedented opportunities and space for the children textile industry.However,due to the present relatively single design,and less children’s taste and personalized textile products in the children’s fabric market,a large number of adultified children’s fabric designs have emerged.In the most process of fabric design,adults’ outlook was used instead of children’s world,and the adult aesthetics were imposed on the children,which is seriously detrimental to the healthy development of children’s textile industry.Comparison with adults,Children’s cognition,aesthetics,and thinking ability are still in a state of an exploration and growth.In the process of children’s fabric design,how to fully meet the needs of children,and to explore textile design conforming to the children’s physical and mental growth,education,entertainment,is the essential basic question for each fabric designers to consider.Under the trend of more subdivided fabric market,it’s therefore necessary to design and produce more fabrics suitable for children,which also is the trend at present.This candidate diploma thesis tries to put forward a kind of new fabric design concept,a differential design for children.The differential design starts a point of designing for the children,meeting the design objective of uniqueness.It also expresses different fresh forms in designing,rather than blindly following,and repeated designing.Therefore,guided by the concept of differential design,the thesis will run the concept through in children’s fabric design,and its corresponding research and design practice.The main results are as follows:First of all,on the basis of comprehensive understanding on the research advances of textiles,and children’s fabric globally,the characteristics and development trend of children’s fabric design was discussed and analyzed.The related existing problem was found out.The research objectives,methods and contents,as well as the technical route were determined.This section acts as a basis and a starting point for the thesis,and provides the corresponding theoretical supports for design practice.Second,the problems existing in the current children’s fabric design was found out,based on the analysis of the present situation of textile products on the market at present.The children’s psychological and physiological characteristics of visual perception were analyzed.Common design styles and forms of design for children’s fabric were also summarized.Combined with children’s fabric pattern design trends,the thesis puts forward the differential design method in the application of textile design,and clarifies the differentiation design principles for graphic-pattern design.The principle mentioned above is mainly composed of five different aspects: choice of fabric,differential design principle in the performance of fabric-pattern design,fabric pattern of children’s design,pattern composition forms,and the types of process design.Finally,the differential design was applied in the children’s textile.On the basis of investigation and analysis of the present situation and problems of children’s fabrics,traditional Chinese subjects were chosen as children’s bedding pattern design.Starting from the aesthetics of Chinese traditional culture,the author designed out the children’s fabrics which conform to the differential positioning for children.According to the principle of limited target,fabrics of children with 6-12 years old were selected to be the designing objects.In order to verify the proposed design method and the feasibility of the idea,during the design process the elements of pictures doll of traditional Chinese New Year elements were extracted and improved,and the designing details and process were described in details.Novelty of this thesis is to put forward the differential design for children’s fabrics.Guided by differential design concept,the author selected the Chinese traditional culture elements,and designed children’s fabrics that is suitable for the children’s aesthetic characteristics and consists of a graphical semantic pattern.This thesis,to a certain extent,could enrich the connotation of children’s fabric,and make children feel the charm of Chinese traditional culture in our daily life.The thesis aims to explore a designing direction suitable for children’s fabric pattern,and broaden the thought in development for children’s fabrics based on the perspective of children.The author hopes that through the research and design practice,the excellent Chinese traditional culture will be promoted and carried forward,and diversified elements will be provided for the design of children’s fabric pattern.Under the guidance of the differential design concept,the author tried her best to explore more fabric pattern design and principle suitable for children.The author also hopes the thesis can be an extension of traditional design concept,and lay foundation and reference for the innovation method for children’s fabric pattern design,as well as making a modest contribute to the healthy growth for children.
