Study On The Multi-subject Discourse Practice Of Environmental Events In Tourist Areas

In recent years,the eco-tourism develops rapidly as a blowout type of growth,which is becoming the new source of environmental pollution.In the current media socialization representation system,various subjects have produced and spread a lot of discourse around environmental issues,which has formed a diverse environment discourse space with Chinese characteristics.Based on the field investigation of Yunnan national ecological area,this paper focuses on two environmental pollution incidents in Yunnan national ecological tourism area: "double corridor Inn pollution incident" and "Shaxi sulfuric acid plant incident",which discusses the discourse practice of different stakeholders in the fragile areas of ecotourism.The ultimate purpose of this paper is to explain the discourse characteristics presented by different stakeholders in environmental pollution events,and then find ways to alleviate the conflict of interest among pluralistic subjects and promote the effective solution of environmental pollution problems.The research questions in the paper: In the national eco-tourism area,how do the diverse subjects involved in the environmental pollution incident use the media resources and participate in the process of discourse practice of environmental pollution events? It can be split into two questions:(1)How does the multiple subjects construct identity through discourse practice,and what kind of value or interest demands?(2)How to make use of media resources to spread and present events? What kind of effect does this propagation and presentation have for the end result of the event?The paper intends to explore the environmental pollution problem of tourism ecological area from the perspective of discourse study.The study takes the environmental discourse as the theoretical basis,and focuses on the systematic analysis of the multiple discourse subjects,discourse content,discourse strategy and media application in the event.Based on previous researches and field research,this paper divides the research objects into four main types: opinion leaders,local government,local residents and inn merchants.The result shows that the discourse practice of multiple subjects is based on their correlation,media resources,social identity and basic value proposition.As opinion leaders,intellectuals and medias' s discourses are the most influential.In addition,the local government plays an almighty role in public events.As for the indigenous inhabitants,they are used to relying on others to express their own thoughts and value appeals.The discourse practice of business enterprises is mainly based on the logic framework of public relations crisis management.Therefore,this paper argues that the overall face of environmental governance and public affairs is diverse,contradictory and complex,and environmental problems and corresponding solutions should be dynamic?questionable and subject to critical scrutiny.The discourse practice of the pluralistic subject is only a few or a few parts that can successfully realize the structural and even institutionalization of the discourse,and the success or failure depends on the reasonable action strategy choice.
