| The quality of marine ecological environment is closely related to the survival and development of human beings.Research on the assessment of marine ecological environment and the environmental carrying capacity is beneficial for people to have a better understanding in the present situation of the domain which was investigated.It also helps mankind to make reasonable utilization of marine resources,which will contribute to the sustainable development of marine ecosystem.In this study,we analyzed the status quo of water environment,sediments’ environment and marine organisms in Fotan Bay first,then used the comprehensive index assessment to make a comprehensive evaluation for Fotan Bay ecological environment.Second,to assess the environmental carrying capacity of Fotan Bay by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model.Finally,some countermeasures and suggestions are made to help to manage and protect the ecological environment and improve the environmental carrying capacity of Fotan Bay.The results of this research show that:(1)The result of single-factor pollution index assessment shows that the concentrations of all the monitored items in Fotan Bay seawater are less than the limited concentrations put forward by government,except to inorganic nitrogen and active phosphate,which become to be the main limiting factors influence the seawater environment of Fotan Bay.The results of eutrophication index assessment and organic pollutants index assessment show that the water environment of Fotan Bay is in a serious state of eutrophication and a moderate state of organic pollution.The water environmental quality of Fotan Bay on autumn is better than that on spring.(2)The results of single-factor pollution index assessment show that the quality of Fotan Bay sediment is in a good state with little pollution.The results of heavy metals potential ecological risk index assessment show that both the single and total potential ecological risks of the heavy metals in sediment of Fotan Bay are in a low level,and Hg is the major heavy metal which plays an important role in impacting the quality of Fotan Bay sediment.(3)The results of marine Organisms’ diversity index show that: the diversity indices of marine organisms in Fotan Bay are in a moderate level,which means that the stability of the marine biomes in Fotan Bay is in a general status.(4)The result of comprehensive index assessment shows that the quality of Fotan Bay is at a medium level.And the environmental quality of Fotan Bay in the season of spring is better than that in autumn.Generally,the environmental quality inside of Fotan Bay is inferior to that outside,which mainly due to the disturbance of marine aquaculture and human activities.(5)The result of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation in environmental carrying capacity of Fotan Bay shows that: The environmental carrying capacity of Fotan Bay is within its maximum restriction and has some carrying capacity available.The carrying capacity of social development,marine resource and marine environment are all in a status appropriate.The carrying capacity of social development and marine resource both present a declining trend.The factors influenced the environmental carrying capacity of Fotan Bay are the rapid development of extensive economic and excessive fishing and marine aquaculture.Effective measures should be taken to protect the ecological environment of Fotan Bay and improve the environmental carrying capacity at the same time. |
