As a kind of beetle resources that live in human habitation and directly or indirectly damages the biological materials and products stored in the darkling beetle,it is one of the important components of beetle diversity. This class of beetles includes 98 genera about 277 species(subspecies)among 9 subfamilies currently in the world, accounting for 1.11% of the total species of Tenebrionidae.which distributed 32 genera about 72 species among 5 subfamilies in China, accounting for 24.0% of the world's storage beetles and 4.3% of the world's storage insects.Like the insects in the world's storage, the darkling beetle is the focus of the taxonomic study of the entire Tenebrionidae. Its biodiversity, taxonomy and systems biology, biology and ecology, distribution, behavior, pest monitoring and comprehensive management, with the most fruitful results. In terms of taxonomy, international studies on the storage of darkling beetle have a long history and rich records.about 71.8% of the insect species associated with stored products were named between 1800 and 1899.15.5% of stored-product insect species were named earlier than 1800 and 12.7% of species named later than 1899.In the late research on the classification of the revised work emerge in endlessly, the more refined and perfect.Chinese scholars have paid attention to the investigation of damage situation and the application of prevention and control technology of the storage of darkling beetle, and made positive achievements in many aspects. But in terms of its overall level classification,Our country still have a large gap compared with developed countries in the world, which mainly displays in the name of the species using chaos, the lack of taxonomic revision work, its to meet the needs of taxonomic identification and pest control technology. For this reason, the starting point of this special study is to strengthen the understanding of the species diversity and taxonomic revision,to reduce the research gap with other countries. This study was finished based on taxonomic status, species diversity, distribution, and occurrence of damage in the world by using a number of documents.Based on the long-term accumulation specimens of the Museum of Hebei University and the use of classical taxonomic means, the species of this family in China has been relatively complete classification and revision, and it uses the internationally recognized classification system to arrange the classification. The paper devided into the general account and the classificatory account two parts. In the general account,it mainly includes the research history both at home and abroad in brief, the significance of the research purpose, materials and methods of study, morphological character of adults and larvae, the economic significance and biological characteristics of storage species, and the development and utilization of this kind of beetles in terms of potential value are prospected. In the classificatory account, there are 32 genera and 72 species(subspecies)among 5 subfamilies described in detail, describing 72 adults,36 larvae,20 eggs, and 19 pupae.Compiled the index tables and feature descriptions at all levels(subfamily, family, genus, and species),standardized various valid names, species citations, the status of classification, the economic significance, species living habits, inspection specimen information and the world distribution information and so on.New distribution data are undated with 10 species found in China for the first time listed as follows: Cossyphus(Cossyphus)depressus(Fabricius,1781),Leptodes brevicarina Ren,1999,Blaps(Blaps)kashgarensis Baters,1879,Gonocephalum(Gonocephalum)granulatum pusillum(Fabricius,1792),G.(G.)schneideri Reitter,1898,G.(G.)pygmaeum(Steven,1829),G.(G.)hadroide(Fairmaire,1888),G.(G.)tuberculatum(Hope,1831),Oodescelis(Ovaloodescelis)affinis(Seidlitz,1893),O.(O.)similis similis(Kaszab,1938).
