Biochar,a soil amendment can effectively improve the aggregates stability of sandy soils and increase available water and fertilizer to the plant, thus increasing crop yields, and alleviating the pressure of farm land shortage in China. In order to investigate implications of biochar for soil physical and chemical properties,a field experiment was conducted in Zhanggutai Town,Fuxin City,Liaoning Province for 2consecutive years.Different forms and various concentrations of biochar were applied and tested. The impacts of biochar on soil particle size, structural properties and aggregate stability were investigated. Our results show:(1)By applying biochar before sowing for two consecutive years, the soil water content and porosity of the sample plot with straw charcoal were significantly increased to 18.11%and45.2%respectively,and the effect of reducing soil bulk density was also significant. The effect was the best among the three biochars when it was reduced to less than 1.32 g/cm~3.(2)The application of biochar could reduce the failure rate of soil aggregate(PAD),for two consecutive years, and the failure rate of soil aggregate of aeolian sand soil decreased 1.7%after the application of biochar, and the long-term application of biochar had a certain effect on reducing the failure rate of soil aggregate, and the application of biochar could reduce the failure rate of soil aggregate for two consecutive years. But not significant.(3)The average weight diameter(MWD)and geometric mean diameter(GMD),of soil aggregates were increased by biochar application, and the MWD and GMD values were significantly increased to 2.29 mm and 1.14 mm,respectively, after two years of full fusion of biochar with soil. The application of straw charcoal had the best effect on the average weight diameter and geometric average diameter of wind-blown sand soil.(4)The fractal dimension(D)of the soil decreased from 2.64 to 2.39 after biochar application. The soil structural properties were looser and permeability was increased than that of the original soil.(5)After two years of full fusion of biochar and soil, the K value of soil erodibility factor decreased greatly, and K value of the plot with straw charcoal was the lowest among the three biochar plots, from 0.1080 of the original soil before sowing in 2017 to 0.0440,The effect is remarkable.(6)According to the data of soil physical properties, soil aggregate stability and corrosion resistance,it was found that adding straw carbon with 2 kg/m~2 concentration was more favorable for the improvement of aeolian soil.
