This paper investigates and evaluates the local knowledge of edible and medicinal wild plants collected and consumed by Mongolian and Han residents in Daqinggou area of Inner Mongolia by literature research,field survey and quantitative research.It provides a scientific basis for the development and utilization of plant resources.The results show that the residents of Daqinggou have accumulated a wealth of ethnobotany knowledge by oral and manual transmission,which has unique regional and important application value.In the naming of folk plants,locals are provided a total of 162 wild plant names for edible and medicine,corresponding to 83 species,3 varieties and 1 forms wild plant species.which indicates that scientific knowledge has a high consistency with traditional knowledge in botanical nomenclature.And analyzed the nomenclature of wild plants used by locals in Daqinggou,including the corresponding relationships between folk plant names and plant species,the naming basis and characteristics of folk plants.In the consumption of wild plants,there are 57 species,3 varieties and 1 forms of wild plants are used for edible,including wild vegetables,beverage,snacks,fruits,oil and fats,seasoning and grains.There are 54 species,1 variety and 1 forms of wild plants are used for medicine,and another 6 species of wild plants are used for livestock medicine.In addition,this study makes an analysis of the utilization methods,parts and functions and indications of folk medicinal plants.There are 25 species,1 varieties and 1 forms of Medical Food,16 species of commercial edible and medicinal wild plants.In the comprehensive evaluation of edible and medicinal wild plants,the author used the Cultural Food Significance Index(CFSI)toevaluate the edible wild plants collected and utilized by locals,which were divided into 6 groups.The results showed that the plant species with high acceptability,high utilization value and important role in the diet culture only accounted for 14.76% of all edible wild plant species.The potential utilization value of wild folk medicinal plants was evaluated by Grading and Ranking,which was divided into 4 groups.There are 16 types of most promising applications.Jaccard index was used to evaluate the similarity between edible and medicinal wild plants used by Mongolian and Han residents in Daqinggou.There are high similarities in the utilization of edible wild plants,but there are differences in the understanding and utilization of medicinal wild plants.
