Promoting high-quality development in a coordinated manner among regions is not only an inevitable requirement for building a well-off society in an all-round way,but also a basis for social stability and harmony.Based on this, this paper makes an empirical research on the regional disparities of high-quality development in China, providing a theoretical basis for promoting the coordinated development of regions.Firstly, this paper constructs the index evaluation system of high quality development, and calculates the high quality development of provincial scale in China from 2004 to 2018 by entropy weight method;Secondly, the regional disparity of highquality development in China are measured and decomposed based on the Theil index from the perspective of provinces and eastern, middle, western regions;Thirdly,by using the exploratory spatial data analysis method, the regional agglomeration degree of high-quality development in China is analyzed from the perspective of spatial correlation, and the spatial disparity of high-quality development of each province(city/district)is investigated; Then, the convergence analysis of regional high-quality development reveals the evolution trend of regional disparity in China; Finally, the twoway fixed effect spatial dubin model is constructed for the eastern, middle, western regions, and the causes of regional disparity in high-quality development are analyzed empirically by using spatial effect theory. The results show that:(1)high-quality development in China as a whole is "east high and west low" trend, and the absolute disparity is large;the regional disparity of high-quality development of provinces presents a gentle "N" type character, and the disparities between regions occupy the main position;before 2010,the regional disparities in eastern, middle, western regions are all showing the trend of gradual expansion in small shocks, and then the pattern of differentiation is obvious;(2)From the spatial point of view, the high-value and low-value regions of high-quality development in China have a spatial agglomeration effect, and the degree of agglomeration is increasing, the spatial difference is significant;(3)China's highquality development did not present ? convergence, but it exhibited ? conditional convergence. This means that regional disparity of high-quality development between provinces may exist for a long time;(4)Factors affect the formation of regional disparity through different effects on high-quality development in different regions.? The increase of material capital is beneficial to the improvement of high quality development level in the central and western regions, but it has no significant influence on the eastern regions;? The increase of human capital plays a role in promoting the high quality development of eastern, middle, western regions. And there is an obvious positive spatial spillover effect in western regions;?The expansion of the scale of financial development in a province is not conducive to the promotion of the high quality of the development in the eastern, middle regions, and is not obvious to the western region;? The improvement of the tertiary industry development has a positive effect on the high quality development of the eastern and middle regions, among which the eastern region has the greatest impact, and the middle region takes the second place, but the impact on the western region is not significant.
