| In this thesis,this research would like to analyze Cai Mep-Thi Vai international deep-sea port cluster in Ba Ria-Vung Tau,Vietnam.Based on the results,this research will evaluate and investigate the possibility of becoming a regional transshipment hub of Cai Mep-Thi Vai cluster.If Cai Mep-Thi Vai could become an international transshipment center,based on that gathering Vietnamese export goods to other markets with longer distances,at least about 29%of the volume of import and export containers of the seaport group 5(equivalent to about 2.8-3.0 million TEU in 2020 and 5-5.9 million TEU in 2030)will not need to be transshipped through Singapore and Hongkong ports.In the long-term future,if synchronously developing the center of inland transshipment at Cai Mep-Thi Vai,gathering export goods of regions throughout the country to put on mother ships,the prospect of Cai Mep-Thi Vai become an international transit center is workable.Not only solve the problem of far sea shipping of Vietnam,the formation of transport routes from Cai Mep-Thi Vai to Europe and the US is also a basis to attract international transshipment and gradually bring Cai Mep-Thi Vai to join the network of regional and international transshipment ports.It is a huge benefit not only of the Southeast region's economy but also at the national level.Because of its enormous benefit,this thesis has been conducted.The thesis includes six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.In this part,this research will give an overview of this thesis,the reason why to choose this topic,literature review,the research of the working stage needs to do and the using of methodology.The second chapter is the related theory which will give the necessary knowledge about deep-sea port,especially transshipment hubs.The knowledge about the methodology has used in this thesis includes DEA analysis with CCR and BCC model also will be here.The following part consist of three chapters is the most crucial part of this thesis.Chapter 3 is the overview of Cai Mep-Thi Vai international deep-sea port cluster.Based on data collected in this chapter,the forecast of Cai Mep-Thi Vai throughput have conducted by the ARIMA model to evaluate their performance.Chapter 4 is a SWOT analysis.This section will find out the strengths,weaknesses,opportunities,and threats of Cai Mep-Thi Vai.Based on that results,the comparison with the transshipment hub requirements which have shown in chapter 2 also conducted.With these results and the performance of Cai Mep-Thi Vai,the chance to become the regional transshipment hub have defined.In Chapter 5,the DEA analysis has implemented with the database collected from Chapter 3.With the aim of in-depth understanding,based on these database,the application of DEA with 2 model:CCR and BCC have using to evaluate the working performance of Cai Mep-Thi Vai and with the forecast of Cai Mep-Thi Vai throughput results in Chapter 3,they're both also have conducted to evaluate and find out the recommendation.In Chapter 6,the results from Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 will be used to figure out several important issues that Cai Mep-Thi Vai needs to focus on their future.In this chapter,several suggestions will also be recommended for the government and local stakeholders.The last part is the conclusion,and it will define the assessment the possible chance to become the regional transshipment hubs of Cai Mep-Thi Vai as well as the meaning of this thesis. |
