Background:In order to adapt to the planet's rotation, the Earth's living creatures have formed a 24-hour cycle of consistent, regular physiological changes. This pattern is called the biological circadian rhythm. There are different types of circadian rhythm among different individuals. We call those who prefer to go to bed early and get up early the “morning type”,also known as the “lark type”.And those who prefer to sleep late and wake up late are called the “night type”,also known as "owl type".At present, the types of circadian rhythm are mainly measured by the actigraph, melatonin content measurement, questionnaire, and sleep diary. The Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire(MEQ)is widely used to identify individuals' types of circadian rhythm.Current researches show that in addition to differences in sleep patterns among individuals with different circadian rhythms, their habits, mood, personality, and even cognitive function are not quite the same. However, the relationship among circadian rhythms, cerebral blood flow and physiological & biochemical indicators in healthy people is rarely reported. Objective:To explore the correlation among circadian rhythm, cerebral blood flow and physiological & biochemical indicators, and to further reveal the influence of circadian rhythm on human health.Methods:Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire was tested on 442 volunteers aged 23-82 years old.The types of circadian rhythm were divided into morning type(167 cases),neither type(224 cases)and night type(51 cases).Transcranial Doppler(TCD)was performed on the subjects to measure the indexes including peak velocity(Vp),mean velocity(Vm),pulsatility index(PI),resistance index(RI),and S/D index of bilateral middle cerebral arteries.Blood pressure was measured and fasting venous blood was drawn for analyzing living function, renal function, glucose, blood lipid, red blood cell count, hemoglobin content and other biochemical indicators.Collect and organize data and perform statistical analysis.Result:1.There was a statistically significant difference in the age of the morning type, neither type, and evening type(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference in gender, height, weight, and BMI(Ps >0.05).2.After controlling the influence of age-related factors, there were no significant differences in the peak velocity(Vp),mean velocity(Vm),pulsatility index(PI),resistance index(RI),and S/D index of the middle cerebral artery among morning type, neither type, and evening type(Ps >0.05).3.After controlling the influence of age-related factors, significant differences were seen among morning type, neither type, and evening type in creatinine, aspartate aminotransferase(Ps <0.05),but there were no obvious differences in alanine aminotransferase, glomerular filtration rate, uric acid, glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein,low-density lipoprotein, red blood cell count, hemoglobin content and other biochemical indicators(Ps >0.05).4.After controlling the influence of age-related factors, evening type had lower systolic blood pressure, diastolic pressure and mean arterial pressure comparing to morning type and neither type, and the differences were statistically significant(Ps<0.05).5.After controlling the influence of age-related factors, the MEQ scores were positively correlated with systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and mean arterial pressure, but the correlation was weak(r=0.099?0.096?0.104,Ps<0.05).Conclusion:There was a significant difference in age among morning type, neither type, and evening type.Older people used to go to bed early and get up early, while young people prefer to sleep late and wake up late. There were statistical differences in aspartate aminotransferase and creatinine among the three groups.Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure had significant differences, which may be related to the influence of different circadian rhythm types on blood pressure or the blood pressure's autonomous rhythm.
