Taxonomy And Ontogeny Of Dictyostelid Cellular Slime Molds In Parts Of China

Dictyostelid cellular slime molds is a small gourp with short survival time,so it is difficult to be observed with the naked eyes.They could be widely found in soil,animal waste,decaying matter and forest litter.Due to the bacteria feeding ability,dictyostelids play an important role in maintaining the balance of the bacterial community in the soil,so it becomes the balance of the forest creatures.The method of obtaining the dictyostelids is mainly to collect the substrate or soil samples from the field,and isolate and purify them in the laboratory.Because their unique the life cycle,the dictyostelids were favored by the scientists and scientists.Dictyostelids have been studied for a century,Dictyostelium mucoroides were firstly described in 1986,so far has hundreds of kinds of dictyostelids was reported at home and abroad.But in China,the study on the web is still in its infancy.Until 2017,69 species were reported in China,including 55 species of Dictyostelium(16 new species,2 new varieties,3 only reported in Taiwan),13 species of Polysphondylium(2 new species),and one species of Acytostelium(only reported in Taiwan).In order to understand the dictyostelids better,soil samples were collected in in Jilin Province,Qinghai Province,Sichuan Province and Yunnan Province.16 strains were isolated from those soil samples according to Cavender and Raper.The purification and taxnomy of those stains were studied.In this study,16 species belonging to one genera of the genus were reported,,including D.semiprostratum,D.aureocephalum,D.mucoroides,D.tenuistipes,D.macrocephalum,D.recurvusbasicus,D.crassicaule,D.quercibrachium,D.aureum var.luteolum,D.microsporum,D.sphaerocephalum,D.discoideum,D.vermiformum,D.sphaerocephalum var.evespigium,D.clavatum,D.brevicaule Olive var.brevicaule.Finally,those strains were preserved.The ontogeny of four species of dictyostelids were observed,including D.aureocephalum,D.macrocephalum,D.crassicaule and D.discoideum.The whole life cycle of those four species were observed in this study.
