The Evaluation Study On The Agro-ecological Efficiency Of Hubei Province Based On The Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)

Since the reform and opening up,China's economic growth has witnessed remarkable success in the world.Meanwhile,it has brought about many problems like environmental pollution and waste of resources,which threaten our social evolution.China is an agricultural country and boasts a tradition of ruling the country with agriculture for centuries.Our country and Communist Party have always attached importance to the problem of the harmonious coexistence of agricultural development and environmental protection.Agro-ecological efficiency is not only a measure of local agricultural productivity,but also an important indicator to reflect the harmonious development of economy,resource and environment.Therefore,it is practically valuable to increase agro-ecological efficiency.The efficiency gains cam provide theoretical reference and methodology for improving agro-ecological environment and promoting economic growth in agriculture.Based on the study of 64 counties in Hubei province,through sorting out relevant literature and establishing index system,and combined with the present situation of agricultural development of Hubei province,this paper employs Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)to evaluate the agro-ecological efficiency of Hubei province,and puts forward strategic suggestions for increasing the agro-ecological efficiency.The paper involves five parts.In the introduction,the paper mainly explains the research background and the significance of the research.Meanwhile,the papers presents the thought,content and method of the research,sets forth the research trend at home and abroad,and concludes the evaluation method,which provides the theoretical basis for the evaluation mechanism of agro-ecological efficiency of Hubei province.In the second part,the content is about the present situation of agricultural growth in Hubei province,concerning the input and output of agriculture and agricultural pollution.In the third part,the author illustrates the index system.In this part,with the reference of relevant literature,the paper establishes the evaluation index system and introduces the method of constructing the model,providing a basis for empirical analysis.In the fourth part,the author suggests the empirical analysis.By sorting out the data,the paper employs the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)to analyze the overall technical efficiency,pure technology efficiency and scale efficiency of 64 counties in Hubei province from 2008 to 2017.Besides,by using the malmquist index method,the paper measures all factors of its variation of the 64 counties,and decomposes the factors.In addition,the papers also analyzes the redundancy of input elements of 64 counties in 2017,and briefly explains its adjustment of the input element.In the final part,the author makes a conclusion about the agro-ecological efficiency of Hubei province,and propose some feasible suggestions on the basis of the analysis.
