In recent years,the conflict between human activities and the natural environment has led to global warming and extreme weather,which has provoked people into thinking about the climate adaptability of buildings.Historical blocks are often designed and built based on the social environment and natural conditions at that time.Therefore,they generally contain construction techniques relevant to dealing with the local climate.The paper aims to study the microclimate characteristics of historical and cultural block in severe cold regions.Taking the Chinese–Baroque historical and cultural block in Harbin as an example,this paper analyzed and studied its climate adaptability technology,and excavates the appropriate technology to cope with the severe cold climate.Firstly,this paper summarizes the research status of climate adaptability of historical and cultural blocks at home and abroad,and points out the limitations of existing research.Then summarize the spatial layout characteristics and use status of the Chinese-Baroque block through investigation.Then this paper have carried out filed measurement of Chinese-Baroque block,and analyses the thermal environment status and characteristics of the block.Finally,the climate adaptability of Chinese-Baroque block have been analyzed and studied by ENVI-met software based on the measured data.The results show that the Chinese–Baroque historic conservation area performs a good climate adaptability in winter.The compact block layout can effectively prevent cold wind and reduce heat loss.The windproof performance of rectangular courtyard with higher enclosure degree is stronger than that of L-shaped and T-shaped courtyard.When the courtyard space is enclosed on all sides,the smaller the length-width ratio of the same width of the courtyard,the smaller the maximum wind speed of the inner courtyard.The rectangular courtyard occupies the largest proportion and most of the courtyard area is less than 500m~2,which shows the adaptability of the courtyard space.At the same scale,the higher the enclosure degree of the square,the smaller the internal wind speed.At the same enclosure degree,the direction of the square opening has a certain impact on its wind environment.Squares in the block are enclosed on three sides and smaller in scale,which shows a certain cold-adapting ability.
