Since the city’s formation,it has continued to bear all kinds of risks from the outside world and itself: These risks include natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods, financial disasters, diseases and other man-made disasters,as well as cumulative pressures caused by climate change, location change and resource depletion.Risk or disturbance is highly unpredictable and sporadic, but it is an objective law of urban development and can’t be completely avoided. The spatial and population agglomeration effects of the current cities are becoming more obvious, social contradictions are becoming more prominent, the risks of uncertainty facing cities are more complex, and the fragility of cities is becoming more prominent. The theory of resilience extends from the field of ecology to urban adaptation research. It is a new planning concept for the current developed countries and regions to apply to climate risk events, environmental pressures, social governance and other aspects to promote urban adaptive development.Research and practice on urban resilience assessment began in 2010.Among them, the index system proposed by Berkeley University and Rockefeller Foundation is relatively mature.Comprehensively, although these indicators have wide coverage, they are difficult to apply to China in terms of geographical adaptability.China has not yet formed a unified research paradigm for resilient cities, therefore,in the context of the academic world’s increasing attention to resilient cities, this paper draws on the thinking logic of the PSR model, proposing that the process of urban resilience has three major areas—“Pressure resilience”,“State resilience” and “Response resilience”,analysising of the characteristics and influencing factors of the three process areas in-depth.With the help of mathematical tools such as mathematical analysis and spatial analysis, assessing urban resilience level of Huangshi City from multi-level and multi-dimensional effectively and proposing specific strategies for urban resilience improvement, providing new perspectives and ideas to the resilience urban assessment and construction.
