The saline-alkali soil resources in China are abundant and widely distributed.Due to the increasing population and decreasing arable land area in the process of economic development,saline-alkali soil has become a valuable land resource and is expected to increase grain production.Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is located in the northwest semi-arid saline-alkali region.The area of saline-alkali soil is about 20718 km2,accounting for 40%of the total land area of Ningxia,especially in the northern Yinchuan Plain which accounts for 81%of the total saline-alkali soil area.The physical property of saline-alkali soil is terrible,which are mainly characterized by soil compaction,poor permeability,low fertility,poor biology and low ground temperature.Soil salinity restrains the growth of most plants through osmotic stress or ion toxicity,and even causes the death of them.The large-scale land is used in an inefficient way becaues of soil salinization and alkalization.At the same time,it affects the improvement of agricultural production and ecological environment in the region.Therefore,it is urgently needed to improve the governance.The northern part of the Yinchuan Plain(referred to as the Yinbei Area)is the object of the study.Based on the existing saline-alkali soil improvement technology and WebGIS,a decision-making database for improving saline-alkali soil is constructed by integrating water conservancy,chemical measures,physical measures and biological measures.Using ArcGIS Server,SQL Server and other technologies to develop saline-alkali soil information system in Yinbei Area could provide the decision support for information query,display and comprehensive governance and also accelerate the process of saline-alkali land management.The results of the study are as follows:(1)Based on the administrative vector map layer and the physical and chemical data of soil at sampling points in Yinbei Area,the spatial and attribute database of saline-alkali land information system is established by using ArcGIS and SQL Server.It can realize the function of querying soil saline-alkali data.Using Web and ECharts to visualize the soil saline-alkali physical and chemical factors of 0-20cm,20-40cm,40-60cm,60-80cm and 80-100cm soils is visually displayed in the form of graph and attribute table.This could reflect directly and comprehensively the changes of soil saline-alkali physical and chemical factors in different soil depths.(2)Based on the soil data,hydrogeological conditions,geological and geomorphological factors of saline-alkali soil in Yinbei Area,the decision-making model for comprehensive management of saline-alkali soil is constructed by integrating existing hydraulic,biological measures,physical measures and chemical measures.According to the decision-making rules,the model takes the specific measures for the saline soil,the alkali soil and the saline-alkali soil respectively,and provides scientific and reasonable suggestions for users to improve the saline-alkali soil.(3)The design and development of the saline-alkali soil information system is based on B/S architecture model,combining with MyEclipse development platform and ArcGIS API JavaScript.The system includes the functions of basic map operation,information query and display,governance recommendation,thematic map display and system management.
