Huanghua in Hebei Province is located in the central part of the Bohai Sea Economic Circle and in the Beijing-Tianjin hub area.The saline-alkali soil in this area is widely distributed.It not only directly affects the physical and chemical properties and fertility of the soil,but also affects the normal growth of the plants on this land,even leads to the death of plants.It thus affects the regional ecological balance.How to explore and utilize these saline and alkaline earth resources is of great significance to the improvement of the ecological environment and the sustainable development of the region.In this study,saline-alkali soil in Huanghua city is the research object.The orthogonal test design is used to investigated the effects of 9 combinations of peat,Tiantong water fertilizer release agent and Hekang saline soil conditioner on the physical property,chemical properties,and the enzyme activity of soil,and the situation of plant growth.The main results are as follows:(1)Different treatments have significant effects on the physical properties of salinealkaline soil,which can effectively improve soil structure,reduce soil bulk density,increase soil total porosity,capillary porosity,non-capillary porosity,increase the maximum water holding capacity and capillary water holding capacity of soil,field water holding capacity.The improvement effect of peat and Tiantong water fertilizer release agent on soil bulk density,soil porosity,and soil water holding capacity were significant,while the effect of Hekang saline soil conditioner on the physical properties of soil was not significant.The order of the effects of the three ameliorants to the physical property of saline-alkali soil was as follows: peat> Tiantong water fertilizer release agent> Hekang saline soil conditioner.(2)Different treatments have a good improvement effect on the chemical properties of saline-alkali soil,which can reduce soil pH,water-soluble salt content,increase soil organic matter content,and increase soil nutrient content such as alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen,available phosphorus,available potassium,and total nitrogen.The treatment of 7,8,9 has the best effect on the chemical properties of saline-alkaline soil.Among the three ameliorants,peat had the best effect on the improvement of soil chemical properties,followed by Tiantong Water and Fertilizer Release Agent and Hekang saline soil conditioner.(3)The urease activity,invertase activity,and catalase activity of soil in different treatments showed a trend of increasing,and the soil enzyme activity of each treatment was higher than that of the reference group.Peat had the greatest impact on soil enzyme activity.The effect of Tiantong water and fertilizer release agent on soil urease and catalase activity was greater than that of soil sucrose enzyme activity,while Hekang saline soil conditioner had a greater effect on soil sucrase activity.(4)Different treatments had a significant effect on seed germination and seedling growth of Zinnia elegans and Cosmos sulphureus.Peat has a significant effect on seedling rate,survival rate,seedling height,and seedling leaf relative conductivity of both plants;Tiantong water and fertilizer release agent has a greater impact on seed germination and seedling growth of Zinnia elegans,as well as the emergence rate,the seedling leaf relative conductivity of Cosmos sulphureus.Hekang saline soil conditioner had a greater influence on the survival rate and plant height of Cosmos sulphureus.Soil physical and chemical properties,soil enzyme activity and plant growth are significantly related to each other.The improvement of the physical and chemical properties of saline-alkali soil will help improve soil enzyme activity and promote plant growth.(5)Through the comprehensive evaluation of the improvement effect of saline-alkali soil by the principal component analysis,we can see that the treatment of 7,8 and 9 is better for the improvement of saline-alkali soil,and the best improvement effect is on the treatment of 9.The impact of peat on the nine treatments was extremely significant,and the effect of Tiantong water and fertilizer release agent was significant,and the influence of Hekang saline soil conditioner was not significant.The results of variance analysis showed that the best combination of ameliorants for improvement of saline-alkaline soil was 400 g of peat,15 g of Tiantong water and fertilizer release agent,and 4ml of Hekang saline soil conditioner.
