| With the continuous development of science and technology, productivity has been rapidly improved, the process of world economic integration has continued to deepen, and the interconnections between countries around the world have become closer and closer, and the pattern of international division of labor has undergone major changes. The economy has entered the era of global value chains. In this case, each country or region participates in different aspects of global production activities according to its own advantages, and thus is located in different positions in the global value chain. Some developed countries rely on their own technology and capital advantages to engage in the R&D and design of products and the production of core components, which is at the high end of the global value chain. And for these high-end strategic links, the developed countries are firmly blocked,so that developing countries have no right to speak to these core technical links. Therefore,as a developing country,China is studying the position of its high-tech industry in the global value chain, which plays an important role in improving the international competitiveness and transformation and upgrading of high-tech industries. This paper is based on China’s high-tech industry.According to the WIOD data from 2000 to 2014,the WWZ method is used to decompose the global value chain of China’s high-tech industry and its specific sub-sectors.Analyze and,on this basis, measure the way and extent of participation in global value chains. The results show that:(1)The proportion of domestic value added in China’s high-tech industry exports is a trend that first declines and then rises, but its overall decline is the state, indicating that high-tech industries participate in global value chains. The degree is gradually increasing.(2)Among the foreign added value of exports, the proportion of exports of intermediate goods is less than the proportion of exports of final products, which means that the production methods of high-tech industries in China mainly rely on the import of parts from other economies for processing.(3)Among the exports of China’s high-tech industries, the purely repeated calculations from China are significantly lower than the purely redundant calculations in foreign countries, which indicates that the level of domestic production division is lower than the level of internationalproduction division.(4)The way in which high-tech industries in China participate in global value chains is mainly a backward approach.(5)The status index of the global value chain of China’s high-tech industry is negative, which means that its position in the global value chain is not high, and it is in a relatively downstream position. Finally, this paper puts forward some corresponding suggestions based on the analysis of China’s high-tech industry participation in the global value chain. For example,high-tech industries should increase R&D investment, take advantage of the huge domestic market, and seize the opportunity of “the Belt and Road”.In order to improve the voice of China’s high-tech industry in the global value chain. |
