The ancient rock stream periglacial landforms are widely distributed in Liaoning Eastern Mountains gully area, and the bryophytes developed in the landforms play an important role in maintaining the stability of the rock stream periglacial geomorphologic environment.Based on the survey data of the bryophytes on the 9 forest community sample areas(20 m×30 m)of the ancient rock stream periglacial landforms and experimental test data of the indoor bryophytes samples, stone and tree epiphytes in broadleaved deciduous forest, first analyzed the bryophytes covering conditions and the living environment character of the open deciduous drymion and the dark coniferous forest on the ancient rock stream, then the water-holding characteristics of the stone and tree epiphytes, the nutrient element enrichment functionwere systematically studied, and the main conclusions were as follow:(1)The stone epiphytic bryophytes in the ancient rock stream periglacial landforms are totaled to 26 families,46 genera and 59 species, among them including hygrophilous mosses 24 species in 21 genera of 13 families mosses and drought-tolerant bryophytes 24 species in 21 genera of 13 families, among which respectively for 59%dominant families,57%dominant genera and 50%dominant species and 59%dominant families,54%ominant genera and 50%dominant species. The tree epiphytic bryophytes in the ancient rock stream periglacial landforms are totaled to 23 families,38 genera and 46 species, among them including hygrophilous mosses 19 species in 23 genera of 27families mosses and drought-tolerant bryophytes 9 species in 17 genera of 19families,among which respectively for 83%dominant families,61%dominant genera and 59%dominant species and 39%dominant families,74%dominant genera and 41%ominant species. It indicated that hygrophilous mosses is mostly existed.(2)The coverage, moss thickness and biomass of the stone epiphytic bryophytes in the ancient rock stream periglacial landforms are 80%~88%,1.09~3.35cm and 402.64~1093.07g/m~2 for respectively. The moss coverage and moss thickness of the three forest types from High to low are dark coniferous forestconiferous and broad-leaved mixed forest>deciduous broad-leaved forest, bryophyte biomass from high to low are deciduous broad-leaved forest>coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest>dark coniferous forest; The coverage, moss thickness and biomass of the treee epiphytic bryophytes in the ancient rock streamperiglaciallandformsare54%~58%,0.57~1.25cmand595.79~2252.55g/m~2 for respectively. The moss coverage of the three forest types from High to low are dark coniferous forest>deciduous broad-leaved forest>needle width Mixed forest, moss thickness and bryophyte biomass from high to low are dark coniferous forest>coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest>deciduous broad-leaved forest.(3)The water holding capacity of the three forest type stone bryophytes in the ancient rock stream periglacial landforms is 422.8~1059.5g/m~2,and the water holding capacity of the stone bryophytes from high to low are deciduous broad-leaved forest>dark coniferous forest>coniferous and broad-leaved.The water holding capacity of tree bryophytes was 276.32~587.52g/m~2,and the water holding capacity of tree bryophytes from high to low are coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest deciduous broad-leaved forest>dark coniferous forest>deciduous broad-leaved forest. The water holding rate and the soaking time of the bryophytes plants were logarithmic, meanwhile the water absorption rate and the soaking time were all as a power function.(4)The highest C content of the three forest type stone bryophytes in the ancient rock stream periglacial landform is 49.26%~52.74%and the lowest Cu content was 0.03%~0.15%.The highest C content of the three forest type tree bryophytes in the ancient rock stream periglacial landform is 53.38%~58.69%and the lowest Cu content was 0.02%,indicating that the nutrient elements of stone and tree bryophyte plants are significantly different.
