China's freshwater resources account for 6%of the world's water resources,behind Brazil,Russia and Canada,ranking fourth in the world,but the per capita water capacity is only one fourth of the world's average level,and it is one of the countries with the poorest per capita water resources in the world.Therefore,it is very important to carry out research on water resources in China.And many scholars have studied water issues from a various levels such as water security?water carrying capacity,water ecology,water footprint and virtual.However,the studies on the utilization of water in industry still aren't enough.At the same time,In the limited water resources research about industry,it is mostly about the use of water resources in agriculture and industry,it is lack of attention to other industries,ignoring the role of water optimization in social water saving in the whole industry.Therefore,this paper study the utilization of water resources from the industry level.In this paper,the input-output tables of 14 departments in 2002,2007 and 2012 are compiled with the data of water use in Zhejiang Province from 2002 to 2012(the input-output table of Zhejiang Province in 2017 is still in preparation),and the utilization of water resources in various industries is analyzed.The IO-SDA model is used to decompose the driving factors affecting the water consumption of various industries in Zhejiang Province,and the effect of driving factors on the water consumption of industries is further analyzed.The model has one and the only one path simulation about time,it satisfies the requirements of dynamics and uniqueness,So the model successfully decomposes the dynamic process of long-term water use.The analysis results show that the efficiency of water use in Zhejiang province is constantly improving,and the total amount of water use has decreased sharply at first and then increased continuously.During 2002 to 2012,the continuous improvement of consumption level is the main driving force to promote the water consumption growth of various industries in Zhejiang Province;the expansion of population size also makes the social water consumption increase slowly;the improvement of water-saving technology is the main factor to restrain the increase of social water consumption,and the change of economic system efficiency.Finally,the restraint effect of the change of demand structure is later,and it also restrains the increase of industry water consumption in Zhejiang Province in varying degrees.
