An Input-output Analysis Of Marine Industry In Fujian Province

Fujian Province located in southeast coast of China has a vast area of ocean with rich resources.The construction of "Marine Silk Road" and "One Belt and One Road" brings new development opportunities and challenges for marine economy in Fujian Province.Currently Fujian marine industries are mostly remained on the theoretical analysis and seldom on quantitative analysis with Input-Output analysis.Thus,the paper analyzes Marine industries with Input-Output analysis to accurately grasp the development and the existing problems.Policy recommendation can be provided to promote the healthy development of marine industry.Firstly,the research background and signifincance are stated to understand the status of marine industry.And the Input-Output analysis is selected as the main research method.Secondly,introduce the basic principle of compiling Input-Output table and build price index of various industrial sectors and then convert to comparable price Input-Output tables.Based on "National Economy Industry Classification" and "Marine Industry Classificiation"industry sectors are reclassified to the marine industry and land industry.We determine data of Marine comparable price Input-Output tables by stripping coefficient.Thirdly,analysis the Fujian Marine Input-Output tables in 1997,2002,2007 and 2012.Eight aspects are included.Lastly,the analysis reveals problems of Fujian marine industry and decision recommendation and reference are provided for the relevant government departments.Empirical analysis shows that the marine industrial structure in Fujian needs to be adjusted.The industrial linkage among industry structure is a little lower.Unbalanced development exists in marine industry.Its final demand structure is still unreasonable.To promote the upgrade of industial structure,marine tertiary industry should be developed strongly.To strengthen the industial connection,the plan of the marine industry should be completed.To be adjusted the industrial structure of marine.To be strengthened the industrial association.To be promoted the balance development of various industries.To be proved the econcmic benefits of marine industry.
