According to long-term impact of oil spill pollution on the marine ecological health in Liaodong Bay,the technical methods of oil spill pollution on the ecological health assessment of the Bay was studied by this paper.GIS was applied on the quantitative assessment of the ecological health of the Bay,which was a new attempt. The implementation of the project will supply important reference value for the restoration and protection of the marine ecological environment in the Bohai Sea.After the comprehensive investigation of marine environment in Liaodong Bay,the present situation of ecological environment in Liaodong Bay was analyzed, the response of plankton to the changes of marine environment polluted by oil spill was discussed, and the effects of petroleum hydrocarbons on the ecological structure and function of Liaodong Bay were studied. On the basis of this, some sensitive environmental, biological and functional response indexes to marine oil spill pollution were selected. The evaluation index system and evaluation model of ecological health in the gulf were constructed, the interpolation methods and parameters were selected and optimized. On the base of GIS platform, marine ecosystem health was quantitatively evaluated in Liaodong Bay,and the distribution characteristics, variation regularity and area ratio of each health grade were determined. So the typical Bay ecosystem development strategies were provided, which supplied scientific basis for the restoration and protection of damaged ecosystems. The results showed that the concentrations was periodic fluctuant with the seasons, but the total trend was decreased.Petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations has a significant correlation between marine surface and bottom. The change trend was thatAutumn>Winter>Spring>Summer. The distribution of petroleum hydrocarbon in seawater showed that the concentrations were decreased gradually from inshore to offshore, and from the open areas to marine protected areas, the area of petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations range((0.030?0.032 mg·L-1)was largest, which was 6960 km2 and was 27%.Seasonal change of the concentrations was influenced by fishing vessel working. The main pollution source was land input and human activity on the sea.The characteristic was that mollusks gastropoda>crab>mollusks cephalopoda>shrimp>fish. The content of petroleum hydrocarbon has a significant correlation between organism and sediment.ordinary kriging shown the best precision. The comprehensive health index of Liaodong Bay was between 0.36 and 0.55.The main sea area of Liaodong Bay was in the critical state of health and sub-health.The area is 21731.7km2,which accounted for 78.4%of the evaluated sea area. The other was healthy. The main negative factors affecting the ecosystem health of Liaodong Bay were toxic pollution index and primary productivity index. The coast of Yingkou Bayuquan port and the outer edge of Liaohe Estuary were the weakest parts of the ecosystem health of Liaodong Bay.
