A Taxonomic Study On The Family Mutillidae (Hymenoptera) From China

The family Mutillidae belongs to the superfamily Vespoidea of Hymenoptera.Species of this family are solitary ectoparasitoid wasps that mostly attack mature larvae or pupae of other Hymenoptera(including Apidae,Halictidae,Sphecidae,Pompilidae and Vespidae)There are about 990 specimens of Mutillidae collected from different procinves or districts of China were stuidied in the present thesis.Fifty-three species comprised of four subfamilies and twenty-one genera are recognized including seven new species,one newly recorded subfamily,five newly recorded genera and seven newly recorded species.Three new conbinations,one new status and two new synonymies are proposed.Diagnosis,distribution record and biological information of each genus and species are given.Keys to subfamilies,genera and species are also provided.All genera and species were described or given diagnosis and illustrated.Type materials of new taxa are deposited in the Hymenopteran Collection of South China Agricultural University.New taxa or newly recorded taxa of this study are listed as the following.Subfamily new to China:Rhopalomutillinae Schuster,1949.Genera new to China:Pherotilla Brothers,2015;Cystomutilla Andre,1896;Promecilla Andre,1902,Kurzenkotilla Lelej,2005 and Nonveilleridia Lelej,1996?New species:Pherotilla brother si Zhou,Lelej&Xu,2017;Ephucilla nigra sp.nov.;Ephucilla nankunensis sp.nov.;Krormbeinidia glabriabdormia sp.nov.;Pagdenidia interrupta sp.nov.;Pagdenidia dentata sp.nov.and Zavatilla xuzaifui Zhou,Lelej&Williams 2018.Species new to China:Cystomutilla teranishii Mickel,1935;Mickelomyrme exiloides(Magretti,1892);Sinotilla colopoda Okayasu,2017;Sinotilla petina(Mickel,1937);Sinotilla yakushimensis(Yasumatsu,1934);Kurzenkotilla annamensis Lelej,2005;Nonveilleridia bataviana Andre,1909.New combinations:Mickelomyrme chinensis(Smith,1855),comb.nov.=Smicromyrme chinensis(Smith,1855);Promecilla levinaris(Chen,1957),comb.nov.=Smicromyrme levinaris(Chen,1957);Sinotilla columnata Chen,1957,comb.nov.=Smicromyrme columnata(Chen,1957).New status:Zavatilla flavotegulata(Chen,1957)stat.nov.= Zavatilla gutrunae flavotegulata(Chen,1957).New Synonymy:Mickelomyrme chinensis(Smith,1855)=Mutilla exacta Smith,1879,syn.n;Zavatilla gutrunae(Zavattari,1913)= Zavatilla logi Zavattari,1913,syn.nov..
