Coastal areas play an important role in economic development period,but with the coastal areas being developed and constructed continuously,the ecological space were destroyed in coastal areas.The dynamic monitoring of land use/land cover in coastal areas can provide a scientific basis for coastal planning and environmental protection work.But most of the coastal coverage types extraction methods had randomness,in recent years,the decision tree method is widely used in the coastal surface cover classification,but the method artificially set the threshold to construct decision tree has a certain degree of subjectivity,thus,establishing of appropriate coastal surface cover classification method still need further study.The research of coastal area on two aspects-development and ecological space monitoring is still not enough.Based on the above problems,this paper selected TM and OLI datas of coastal areas in Panjin to do experiments.The coastal boundary line was defined by visual interpretation and the the scope of the study was determined.Then,the classification system was builded that conforms to coastal surface cover characteristics.And on this basis,the impacts when different features participated in the classification with original image were evaluated.The experiments results show that the NDVI feature can improve the discrimination of vegetations in coastal areas,GLC decision method was selected to do the coastal land cover classification experiments.As a result,GLC decision tree method can not only achieve high classification accuracy,but can also enhance the integrity of the classification results in large patches.The concept of "land use intensity index"was introduced,and the new land use degrees were builded.According to the statistics,the land area of the ecological space and its percentage of the whole coastal area were calculated.The "land use type transfer matrix"proved the transformation rules of coastal area's land-use types in Panjin,finally we have come to the conclusion that the land for development and construction in coastal area mainly derived from occupation of coastal ecological space in Panjin.This paper's achievements can provide references for the research on coastal land development and ecological space remote sensing monitoring technology.
