With the rapid economic growth, the contradiction between urbanization and climate environment becomes increasingly acute. It is an urgent to resolve the conflicts between not only the urban space requirement and the short land resource limitation, but also the living quality and the high-density residential environment. On the micro-climate research,a summary of design parameters, especially for adaptability of buildings and cities under special climate and energy saving,is still lacking. The purpose of this research is to identify the relationship between the controlling factors of the residential area and the micro-climate design parameters,to analyze the change of residential micro-climate environment under different design factors,to explore the future trend of morphological parameters about climate,to summarize quantitative indexes through studying the existing elements affecting micro-climate in residential area, and to provide a control in overall residential areas planning. The research object of this thesis is high-density residential area in hot-humid climate. After examining the evaluation criteria on warm-air environment in residential area;collecting the existing correlation parameters about living area form;clearing the definition, application scope and calculation method;analyzing the relationship between the index and the morphological factors that affect the micro-climate in the residential area, this paper classifies the parameters by both individual building and architectural groups. At the level of individual building, the essential morphological parameters influencing micro-climate are as follows:shape coefficient of building(S),frontal area ratio(?s),overhead ratio and street canyon high-width ratio(H/W);At the level of architectural groups, the morphological parameters affecting micro-climate mainly include frontal area density(AF/AT),sky view factor(SVF),wrinkle rate, porosity(Po)and rugosity(?).The simulation study selects evaluation index of wind environment at pedestrian height as the evaluation standard of micro-climate environment in residential area which applies to urban design.By using PHOENICS software the research simulate residential micro-climate affected by main morphological index from single building and building group level respectively. The simulation is mainly about the influence of the indicators on the micro-climate of residential area in hot-humid climate. Those indicators include frontal area ratio, overhead ratio, frontal area density, porosity and rugosity.Through comparing a series of simulated researches,a index system is demonstrated suitable for the residence in hot-humid climate. In addition,a set of appropriate value range of morphological parameters concluded by the thesis will be helpful for improving the micro-climate environment.
