Bird strike refers to the incidents that affect or potentially affect aircraft safety at the aircraft's operational phase.With the rapid development of the aviation industry in China and the continuous improvement of the ecological environment,the bird strike events are also increased and it causes great economic losses.At present,most domestic related researches are carried out from only one perspective,such as vegetation,animals and birds,and put forward a number of bird strike control measures.However,the comprehensive studies on the direct and indirect factors that influenced the occurrence of bird strike is relatively few.The occurrence of a bird strike event is the result of a combination of multiple environmental factors in a certain airport environment.In order to put forward a more comprehensive and effective bird strike control and prevention measurements,we should better understand the causes of bird strike events,and clarify the relationship between bird strike and airport environment.In this study,we chose the ecological environment and bird community of Wuhan Tianhe International Airport as the object,and combine the bird strike reference information statistical analysis and field monitoring investigation methods,to explore the bird strike,bird community,ecological environment and bird strike control measurements in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.The key research findings are as following:(1)For the happening height of the bird strikes,the number of bird strikes that happened below 0-400m area accounted for 50.00%of the total number of bird strikes.It is the main height area of the bird strike that happened in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.(2)For the happening time of the bird strikes,4-6 and 8-10 months are the frequently occurrence months in the year,and 18:00-24:00 is the frequently occurrence time in the day in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.(3)There is a significant correlation between bird community and bird strike in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport,and the bird community has important influence on the occurrence of bird strike.(4)Among the 66 species of birds in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport,9 species are the high threated birds for bird strikes.(5)The vegetation,animal and other biological factors have significant correlations with the airport bird community in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.At the same time,the climate also has a significant effect on bird communities.(6)In the current stage,18 kinds of plants and 4 kinds of insects have a higher suitability level for birds in Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.On the basis of above research results,we put forward the control strategies of bird strikes for Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.We should take the climate factor as the premise,and control the overall airport environment thus reduce the suitability of airport environment for birds.We should target the high potential threat birds for governance and sustain constructing the low-threated bird community,and make prompt adjustments with the time and environmental changes.At the same time,we should use other methods to coordinate and supplement the dynamic ecological countermeasures for Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.
