A Case Study On Communication Management In P-system Project Requirement Analysis

Communication Management,one of the nine major fields of project management,squeezes project managers most and is regarded as an independent knowledge area,aiming to guarantee that the project information will be,both exactly and in time,collected,extracted,delivered,treated,and stored,and eventually will apply to each stage of the project.Although it is the theme of no projects,communication management is definitely indispensable for the fulfillment of each task of the projects.This paper mainly focuses on how to set up an effective and feasible requirement communication management mechanism in the process of establishing project management systems for telecom industry.The object of the study is the problems in communication management caused during the project requirement analysis of “Project Management System for China Unicom Investment and Construction”.First of all,a detailed introduction is made about the business background of the study object,and as well as the characteristics and trends of software development in telecomm industry.Second,this paper describes the contents of that project establishment of such a system and the specific work in project requirement analysis.Then,this paper emphatically introduces the typical communication management cases in the project requirement analysis,analyzes the inadequacies and deficiencies in communication on basis of the communication theory,summarizes the reasons for such problems,and eventually puts forward schemes and countermeasures: establish a communication procedure with communication plan as a core,make a reasonable choice of the project communication channel,improve the communication skills and modes,enhance team members' capacity in communication and coordination,which,thereby,provides guarantees for the project to go smoothly,and meanwhile,offers communication management methods of important referential value,and effectively raises the success rate of IT projects.
