| Remote work refers to a work mode where the work location is moved from a traditional office to a remote location using communication technologies such as the internet.This work mode can be traced back to the 1960 s,but it did not become widely used due to limitations in communication technologies and cultural norms at that time.In the 1990 s,with the widespread popularity of the internet and the emergence of digital collaboration tools,companies such as IBM and HP became some of the earliest adopters of remote work.In the 21 st century,with the maturity of the internet and communication technologies,diverse,systematic,and standardized digital office suites have emerged,providing necessary conditions for more companies to try remote work.In particular,the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 further promoted the popularity of remote work,and many companies around the world have implemented remote work to cope with the epidemic.Company A is a typical small and medium-sized internet technology company.Since its establishment five years ago,the company has grown to 85 employees.Driven by various factors,the company began to implement full-time remote work for all employees in March 2021.The change in the work mode has brought many conveniences and advantages to the company,but at the same time,it also faces many problems and challenges,especially in team management.This article comprehensively applies interview methods,questionnaire surveys,and literature research methods to explore the team management problems and challenges that Company A faces after implementing remote work.After analysis,it was found that these problems mainly focus on manager’s cognitive management,digital office suites,worklife boundaries,supervision and evaluation,communication and collaboration,and team culture.To address these issues,based on the GRPI team effectiveness model theory and the actual situation and practical experience of each team in Company A after remote work,this article optimized the team management strategy to help Company A smoothly transition from the chaotic stage of team management after full-time remote work to a well-organized stage,laying a solid foundation for Company A to continue smoothly with full-time remote work.In today’s digital age,the author hopes that through this research,a set of practical and effective solutions and ideas can be provided for small and medium-sized internet companies that are considering transitioning to remote work. |
