As being with an era of the changes on consumer's consumption concept,the consumer is expecting the product generation can be updated daily,customized and unique.Consumer's demanding brings the product design more complexity and fast generation.While,with the demanding,the manufacturer process becomes longer and the material flow becomes longer as well.Such kind fast consumption circumstance,the production lead time becomes longer,customer satisfactions ratio drops accordingly.Both the highly WIP inventory and complex material flow will cause the manufacturing cost increase,the production manufacturing lead time increases,delivery delay,and quality risk increases as well.Definitely,it impacts the competition of company in the field.Therefore,it will provide the guidance on theory and practice to study the WIP management in the electronic product manufacturing field.In this thesis,it is to study the WIP management of Jabil Precision(Guangzhou)Industry limited which is one of highly extensive labor cost manufacturing on electronic product field.By using the theory of TOC theory,Total quality management,inventory management,lean production,field management,Just-in-time production management,to study WIP management through the method of field investigation,case analysis and literature survey.Jabil Precision is typical electronic product manufacturer,belongs to discrete manufacturing industry with mixed production assembly line,Production capacity install is designed against the daily demand and the production is followed the pull demand theory.The product manufacturing process is a bit longer and complex including surface mount technology,test,final assembly,pack-out and inspection.Finally found that the longer,complex manufacture process,production line layout is un-reasonable,the bottle-neck station,quality first pass rate low,un-balance line capacity will bring out the highly inventory,product pile-up,finally increase the cost and prolong the delivery lead time.By learning from the experience of WIP management and theory in China and aboard,the improvement focus is to optimize the production process design to restructure the process flow,to implement the total quality management,TOC and so on to improve the quality yield rate,reduce the WIP inventory to improve the WIP inventory management,and to reach the production lead time reduce,to maximize the output with the minimum cost.
