Study On Moderate Scale Management Of Sericulture Family Farm

Sericulture,as a traditional dominant industry in China,has been faced with many problems and challenges such as small-scale family management,backward production mode and low labor productivity,as well as challenges from other agriculture,non-agricultural industries and other countries.Higher natural risk and market risk result in instability production of sericulture.Study on the appropriate scale of the sericulture family farm and the influencing factors of appropriate scale can promote the scale,specialization and intensification,which has an important significance in the construction of sericulture family farms and the sustainable development of Sericulture.This paper reviews the relevant literature on family farms at home and abroad for appropriate management and sericulture family farms.It uses 2009 Sericulture Questionnaire survey data to analyzes the basic characteristics of silkworm farmers.Secondly,based on the CD production function,the appropriate scales of sericulture family farms in different provinces were measured,and the gap between the actual scale and the moderate scale of farmer households was compared.Through the construction of multiple linear regression model,we can empirically analyze the factors affecting the appropriate scale of family farms in sericulture.By comparing the total net income and the opportunity cost of the silkworm family farm,we can explain whether the farmers chose to withdraw from the sericulture family farm of sericulture production in the long and short period.Questionnaire survey data shows that the actual average production scale of sericulture was 4.92 mu in China,of which the actual scale in the East-central-west regions of China were 4.10 mu,4.60 mu and 5.89mu respectively.According to the C-D production function,the appropriate scale of the silkworm family farm is 6.23 mu,and the moderate size of the family farm in the East,middle and West is 3.02 mu,4.96 Mu and 10.19 Mu respectively.It can be seen that the eastern and central silkworm regions basically reach a moderate scale,but there is a certain gap between the actual average production scale and the moderate scale in the Western silkworm area,and the proportion of family farms to a moderate scale is low.The factors affecting the appropriate scale of the sericulture family farm were combed.Through the construction of multiple linear regression model,it was found that in the national model regression,the labor input and education level had a significant positive effect,while the total cost of production,the mulberry area and the cocoon price had a negative influence.In addition,in the moderate scale of the sericulture family,the labor-saving machinery equipment,the production organization mode and the industrial policy are only significant in the Western silkworm area.It shows that the situation of the sericulture production in various regions is different,and the different appropriate scale policies should be carried out in different regions.By comparing the total net income and opportunity cost of the silkworm family farm,it is found that the scale of family farms in the country,East,central and West should be expanded to 8.97 mu,13.71 mu,9.17 Mu and 7.8 mu in the short term.Otherwise,the farmers will choose to withdraw from the silkworm even on the scale of maximum profit.The mulberry industry.In the long run,in order to let the farmers continue to engage in sericulture production,the scale of family farms in all provinces should be maintained at the scale of 20.79 Mu and 86.50 mu.According to the conclusions,it is necessary to expand the scale of production,develop sericulture family farms to bring economic benefit of scale;strengthen the promotion and application of labor-saving technologies to increase labor productivity and efficiency;expand the area of mulberry through land transfer to raise the total income of a single family;increase capital investment,improve the level of sericulture machinery and equipment;increase the government subsidies and improve the silkworm farmers' knowledge and technology.
