| According to The 40th Statistical Report on Internet Development in China released by CNNIC(China Internet Network Information Center),there are 751 million Internet users nationwide with a penetration rate of 54.3%by the end of June 2017.Internet has profound influence on people’s daily life.This study discussed Corporate Social Responsibility in China’s Internet industry under such circumstances.This study summarizes the history and development of corporate social responsibility through literature review,and chooses the top three giants of Chinese Internet companies for the case study.These three companies are from different sectors in the Internet industry.They are Alibaba from e-commerce,Tencent from social networking and online gaming,and Baidu from search engine.Currently,very little literature examines CSR in Internet industry,especially in the fast-growing economy like China.Therefore the main idea of this thesis is to analyze the influence of corporate social responsibility on the Chinese Internet industry.On the basis of my research area,I would like to use a qualitative approach.The secondary data will be collected through literature review of research papers,magazines,websites and books.The primary data will be collected by conducting interview with expert of CSR in China.The survey was analyzed according to Burke and Logsdon’s five strategic dimensions:centrality,specificity,proactivity,voluntarism,and visibility.The conclusion and suggestion will be conducted based on above mentioned analysis. |
