A Preliminary Study On The Concept And Judgment Method Of The Metropolitan Area Under The Background Of China

The metropolitan area is a manifestation of the development of the city to the advanced stage,and it is a complex geographical space phenomenon.The two dimensions of physical space and management system should be considered comprehensively.Under China's current development pattern and political system,we believe that the nature of the metropolitan area is connected with the spatial contiguity of neighboring cities,which in turn creates many cross-border problems and creates the need to establish some form of cross-border governance institutions;It is a certain central city that has the influence and governance ability to surpass the actual space scope of the central city,and it can directly or indirectly control and control the surrounding cities.This paper has made a longitudinal review of the development and evolution of metropolitan areas at home and abroad,and proposed an understanding of the concept of metropolitan areas in line with China's current national conditions and a corresponding classification system.After the aforesaid theoretical research,taking Zhejiang Province as an example,a judgment was made on the development status of the urban areas in the province;first,the inner urban area of Zhejiang Province was defined in isolation,and then the inter-city break point method,economic distance,economic gravity,and Quantitative methods such as economic intensity define the spatial scope of metropolitan areas,and then consider the interrelationships in the space of adjacent cities,and draw the spatial pattern of metropolitan areas in Zhejiang province and the corresponding policy measures to achieve this trend.
