In the society of market economy,no enterprise could forever remain invincible,be it small or large,private or state-owned.The decisive factor for the destiny and development of an enterprise is how to face competition,for competition is the theme of this fast-developing society.If an enterprise wants to stand firm in this fast-developing society without being defeated by others,it must have competitive products.R&D lays a foundation for the development of an enterprise,so the management of R&D projects is of vital importance to an enterprise.If a product could not meet market demands from R&D project approval to marketing promotion,it would not only lead to a waste of R&D capital and labor costs but also tend to be surpassed by competitors,eventually bringing fatal damage to the enterprise.Therefore,an enterprise should strengthen the management of R&D projects based on its own situations and start to build an effective management process of R&D projects from the source.Based on studying relevant literature about project management,this thesis deeply analyzes the current team organization and management model of D Company where the author is working.Through in-depth analysis,it is found that there exist shortcomings and problems in the R&D project management in the development phase of new products.Through the case study of the R&D process of a base station error detecting product of D Company,this thesis reviews its R&D decision-making,provides basis from perspectives including market,technology,procurement,planning and economy and offers comprehensive suggestions on whether the projects should be approved and allowed to enter the development phase.Through analysis,it gradually develops a set of scientific and reasonable R&D review process in conformity with the actual situations of the enterprise.Meanwhile,by utilizing this feasible tool of project management,it strictly controls the risks of R&D and givesfull play to the enthusiasm and initiative of the R&D team based on performance management and incentive mechanism to ensure that new products could be successfully delivered within expected time and cost and that they,being marketed-oriented,differentiated yet relative,could not only meet market demands but also gain a first-mover advantage in the competition.
