As China’s economy has entered a new normal,the role of scientific and technological innovation in improving productivity and transforming economic development mode becomes more and more obvious.It is the consensus of the Chinese people to implement the strategy of strengthening the power of intellectual property and taking the road of innovation-driven development.Patent,as one of the three major components of intellectual property rights,is an important achievement of scientific and technological innovation,which plays an important role in promoting technological innovation and economic development.The universities are important subjects of national scientific and technological innovation,and plays an important role in the construction of the patent power.In recent years,the university in our country have made great achievements in the invention patent application,authorization and the effective quantity under the strong impetus of the national and the university patent work,and the number of patent output has reached a higher level,which has reached even exceeded the level of the universities in Europe and America.Although the number of patent in China’s universities has increased rapidly,it has not brought the corresponding benefits in transformation.China’s universities have a greater gap with American universities in the implementation of patent transformation.The root cause of the gap is the low quality of the patents in our universities,and the lack of core patents with high quality and market competitive advantages.In this thesis,we select some invention patent authorizations in recent five years and top 50 universities in accumulative effective ranking as the research object.In order to fully understand patent output capability of universities in our country,this thesis deeply analyzes patent output from patent applications,authorization,and accumulative effective number,growth rate and ranking by patent information analysis method.On the basis of this analysis,we use the patent analysis tool of Innography to obtain the strength data of university patent,and systematically analyzes the distribution of patent strength and the core patent output of our university.By comparative analysis of the intensity factor,the technology theme distribution,the international application and the citation of the core patents between Chinese and American universities,we find that in spite of the rapid increase of patent output,the number of core patents is far lower than that of the United States,and several intensity factors of high intensity patents are also significantly lower than those in the United States.A section(Human Necessities)is a very active area for patent activities both in the world and China,,whose corresponding products are necessity of human life.Those patents with high quality of A section not only bring about improvements in human life,but also contains significant economic benefits.However,the patent output capacity of the universities in China is low,which is in sharp contrast with the American universities.On the basis of the above analysis,this paper puts forward the suggestion of improving the whole patent quality of universities in our country based on the actual situation of patent work.This paper has practical help to comprehensively understand the patent output and the overall quality of the university in China,and its analysis perspective of patent quality is a very useful attempt,which is of great significance to promote evaluation and research on the patent quality. |
