Numerous studies show that the level of employee engagement in China is below the world average,even less than half of Western countries.Some scholars say this phenomenon is resulted from different cultures.This view has been verified in some studies.This article uses the main dimensions of Hofstede's cultural model to study the impact of employee's culture recognition on employee engagement.Following the step of reform and opening-up policy,China's social concept has diversified changes.The culture recognition of new generation employees(80's,90's)and old generation employees(60's,70's)have huge differences.And the management of new generation employees has become a difficulty.So this article will examine the effects of cultural differences between new generation employees and old generation employees on employee engagement.This article did a comparison of employee engagement level and cultural analysis between China and western countries.Then determining the research topic based on the literature research.Culture recognition is the independent variable of this article,and dependent variable is employee engagement,and age is the moderator variable.Through sufficient literature analysis,research hypotheses and research models are proposed.After the collection of questionnaire survey data,this article did a series data analysis to test the research hypotheses.Finally,according to the conclusion,this article get some inspiration of management.The main conclusions are as follows:First,the greater the power distance recognition,the smaller the employee engagement.Second,collectivism have no significant influence on employee engagement.Third,the stronger the long-term tendencies,the stronger the employee engagement.Fourth,the culture recognition between new generation employees and the old generation employees are quite different.The above conclusions fully prove the relationship between culture recognition and employee engagement,and also verify that there are significant differences in culture recognition between different generations.It in theory not only enrich the study of employee engagement,but also has a good guide to business management.This article made the following five suggestions for managers to effectively enhance employee engagement.First of all,enterprise can add value measurement at the recruitment,which could focus on the power distance recognition and long-term orientation recognition.It can effectively search the talents for enterprise.Second,strengthen the effective communication between superiors and subordinates.Third,let employees participate more in decision-making.Fourth,enterprise could strengthen the communication between the new generation employees and old generation employees.Finally,help employees make good career planning.
