Small and medium sized enterprises(SMEs)have been the cornerstones of a country's economic development in terms of job creation,developing services and promoting scientific innovations;SMEs are also important platforms for China's mass entrepreneurship and innovation.But SMEs are disadvantaged in competing for the best talents in labor market as they are in a free competitive industry.As a result,it is of great importance for SMEs to improve employee satisfaction and maintain internal stability.Shenzhen Langshi Garment Co.,Ltd.is a small-scaled clothing manufacturer,which has encountered recruitment difficulties and high churn rate among its employees in recent years.The analysis of the questionnaires of employee satisfaction revealed low satisfaction levels in terms of general work conditions and those in different modules,with the lowest satisfaction coming from segments of salary and welfare,employee training,and rest and vacation.An analysis based on interviews and on-site inspections shows that low satisfaction can be attributed to flawed business administration,lack of performance management,low incentives provided by salary and welfare arrangements,and backward corporate culture etc.Amid sluggishness of the clothing industry,Langshi managed to blaze a new trail by adopting customized production and diversified strategies with the help from the government toward small and micro enterprises,which has generated sound developmental opportunities.Therefore,it is the priority for Langshi to retain employees,improve their satisfaction and maintain a stable team.To this end,Langshi shall clarify its corporate strategies,improve systems,including recruitment system,enhance performance review,boost attractiveness of salary and welfare,ramp up employee training,and establish a care culture system for employees,so as to boost employees satisfaction through a combination of material,spiritual and cultural incentives and seize opportunities for achieving rapid growth.Langshi Garment Co.,Ltd.'s strategies in upgrading corporate development through elevating employee satisfaction serve it well and yield concrete benefits;and it is expected to provide a reference for SMEs in similar conditions in improving the management.
