| In the process of accelerating the development of new urbanization,social housing is an important measure for the government to solve the housing problem of floating population.So,to estimate the effect of social housing on the floating population’s integration into urban society and to explore the relevant housing security mode has a great practical significance to promote their urbanization.On the basis of previous empirical and theoretical research,this paper further analyses the housing problem and cause of the floating population in China,and explains the internal mechanism of housing acquisition and urban integration.Subsequently,based on the survey of the National Dynamic Monitoring of the Floating Population of China in 2014,we apply factor analysis and fuzzy set theory to measure the degree of the floating population’s urban integration,and then use OLS regression,Quantile regression,Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition method and ordered logit model to estimate the effect of social housing on urban integration of floating population.The empirical results show as follows: Firstly,social housing has a significantly positive effect on comprehensive urban integration,economic integration and social integration,but has opposite effect on psychological integration.Secondly,for all quantile,social housing can promote floating population’ integration to the city,but the effect trend for different quantile is quite different: for the low quantile,the positive effect trend on social housing and urban integration gradually increased,for the middle quantile,the positive effect trend is smooth,but for the high quantile,it rapidly decreased.Thirdly,by decomposing the floating population heterogeneity,we find that the positive effect of social housing on immigrants who come from rural areas is higher than those came from urban areas.Meanwhile,the different endowment is the main factor that leads to the difference of the floating population’s integration,while the household registration system has less influence.Housing factor and housing location can be explained by 15-18% of the contribution rate of explained part.Fifth,accessing to social housing can promote immigrants’ settlement intensions.In view of the above empirical conclusions,from the perspective of institutional and practical operation,this study provides some suggestions to develop and improve the housing security system of the floating population. |
