Nowadays,since the information-based of construction is being energetically boosted in our country,further optimization project management organization of construction enterprises,workflows and flow of information is prerequisite.Business processes are the basis of construction enterprise operation,which has direct affects on the efficiency of construction enterprises management.Moreover,along with the expansion of enterprise scale and projects’ ranges,the numbers and complexity of business processes within the enterprise have greatly increased,which enhances the difficulty of construction enterprise operation.How to accurately analyze the complexity of a construction enterprise’s core business process and specifically optimize the business process is a problem which need to be solved.Based on the theory of process optimization,taking three construction enterprises as the objects for empirical research,the complexity evaluation and optimization of construction enterprises’ business process are studied in this paper.First,the influences of business process complexity is analyzed from three perspectives:the number of business activities,loop complexity and the complexity of activity.Complexity evaluation model of construction enterprises’ business process is proposed and preliminary quantitative evaluation results are obtained in this work.On the premise that the quantity of sample is big enough,the distribution of quantitative evaluation results is divided by Pauta criterion.On the basis of the distribution,qualitative evaluation results are obtained.The model of selection methods to business process change is proposed according to the combination of the enterprise life cycle theory and the qualitative evaluation results.Second,4 kinds of information inter-relationships are analyzed with case study,which is serial structure,feedback structure,parallel structure and bypass structure.Use the method of assigning matrix elements which is based on the information flows between roles to eliminate such defects that the original design structure matrix model is based on Boolean algebra matrix.Optimization model of construction enterprises’ business process based on the improved design structure matrix is proposed and illustrate how it works in detail.Finally,the optimization model is applied to the cases which is M Co.,L Co.and T Co..The complexity of core business processes of cases is analyzed systematically.Then selecting representative business processes of cases,the fuzzy clustering relationship is analyzed by the optimization model.Proposing the optimization recommendation according to the enterprises’ actual situation,coupling activities are eliminated to make cohesiveness of activities more closely.According to the enterprises’ own characteristics,combining with enterprises actual situation,Management strategies are proposed from three aspects:roles,organization structure and informatization.The research results showed that: first of all,complexity evaluation model objectively shows the characteristics of construction enterprises’ business process structure,and the analysis results are compatible with the reality.Second,large-scale construction enterprises’ business process structures tend assimilation,which is especially apparent in the private enterprises.The control of capital becomes more strictly along with construction enterprises scale’s growing.Third,redundant activities and coupled activities are universal in the enterprises that have complicated funds management process,which is among the leading causes of business processes’ complexity.Finally,the fuzzy clustering analysis results,based on the improved DSM,could reflect the association state and redundancy of activities between each work in the process well,thatcould be the basis of process optimization and process re-engineering.
