A Comparative Study Of Chinese And Foreign Shrinking Cities And The Enlightenment

The alternation of prosperity and recession is the universal law of urban development,whether it is past,present or future.Until the last 100 years,the shrinking cities began to appear in Europe and the United States,China has experienced rapid urbanization development,some areas have begun to shrink,but the Chinese and foreign shrinking cities have obvious differences.Based on the related analysis on the theory of shrinking cities,concepts of content,first at the macro level to face foreign shrinking cities' motivation mechanism and performance characteristics and other aspects of comparative research;secondly,in the micro level in Liangping County as an example to analyze the shrinkage of the Chinese western area;finally,based on the shrinkage of Western China,the author puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions.In fact,China's current urban development is based on the growth model of the top-level design,which is consistent with Germany and other European and American countries shrinkage of the early urban development of the dominant paradigm.Since the reform and opening up,affecting the growth of values from the field of economic development has penetrated into the whole system from the central to local development aspects.To a certain extent,the rapid development of China's economy is accompanied by the process of urbanization,through the expansion of urban space to complete.Under the guiding ideology of growthism,China's urban government has always put economic growth in the first place,forming a extensive,spread of urban space development trend.The introduction of shrinking cities in the context of this "growth thinking" will provide a new perspective for academics and government planning departments,the government should be a forward-looking perspective to see the city growth and shrinkage is the objective law of development of the city,from the positive and negative aspects of the phenomenon of shrinking cities,to deal with the shrinking cities in china reasonably.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction.This paper mainly expounds the background and the significance of the research on the shrinking cities.Analyzes the theoretical basis and practical basis of the shrinking cities and expounds the research ideas,research methods and technical routes.The second part is the summary of the research on shrinking cities.It mainly includes the definition of the concept of shrinking cities and the quantitative criteria,the causes of shrinking cities,the spatial pattern,the problems faced and countermeasures,such as the overview of the research and extraction of shrinkage of research elements.The third part is a comparative study of the macro level of shrinkage in China and foreign countries.Mainly from the motivation mechanism,such as globalization,industrialization,suburbanization,population aging and from the performance characteristics,such as shrinkage process,social phenomena,spatial patterns are compared and analyzed.The fourth part is the microcosmic shrinkage in Liangping County in the western region in China.The study found that in the context of new urbanization,Liangping County exists Chinese unique urban shrining mechanism and performance characteristics.The fifth part is the countermeasures and suggestions for the shrinking cities in the western region in China.
