In the background of new economic normality,total retail sales of consumer goods increased more than 10% from 2011 to 2015.The development of retailing is very important for Chinese economy.But the rapid development of Internet brings new chances and challenges to retailing.The department store has its unique problem in the stage of development.In 2015,the department store industry has experienced the biggest shutdown in past 5 years.In the new market environment,the department store should know of competitive power of itself and all developments in the industry.So,it will be helpful for retail enterprises and Chinese economy to evaluate the enterprisescompetitiveness of the department store industry.Based on the basic theory of competitiveness,the essay make an analysis on enterprises-competitiveness and the characteristic of retailing.According to the general evaluation system and specialties of the retailing,the essay make an evaluation system which contains 18 index of enterprise.There are 6 dimension to evaluate enterprisescompetitiveness by means of Factor Analysis based on the data of 40 companies in Chinese A share market.The empirical study reach a ranking of all the companies.Through the cluster analysis and dynamic analysis,the article make an analysis to the result of empirical study and the reason of the ranking.The last chapter summarized the conclusion of study and give some suggestions to the department store about upgrading the competitiveness of them.
