Potential Of Chinese High-tech Products Exports To United States

China and the US are important trading partners to each other,so bilateral trade between China and the US matters in the development of Sino-US trade.In the context of economic globalization,the development of Sino-US trade relation is increasingly close.Since China’s accession to the WTO,the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has been further strengthened,and the exportation of China’s high-tech products to the US develops rapidly.According to the United Nations statistics database,China’s high-tech products exports to the US amounted to $16.165 billion in 2001,and increased to $125.941 billion in 2015,namely,the exports doubled nearly 8 times in 13 years.Therefore,it is important to promote Sino-US trade by analyzing the potential of the exportation of China’s high-tech products to the US.Combining with relevant international trade theory,the paper first introduces the development process of China’s high-tech products exports trade to the US,and then further analyzes the feature of the trade,and holds that the exportation trade of China’s high-tech products exports to the US mainly in forms of processing trade.After that,this paper discusses relevant factors which influence China’s high-tech products exportation to the US.The author suggests that both China and the US governments attach great importance to the development of high-tech industries under the background of economic globalization.Since Chinese enterprise lack independent innovation,and the US government controls on the export of high-tech products,the deepening and expansion of exportation of China’s high-tech products to the US is restricted by foreign direct investment,the number of scientific research personnel and patent applications.The author makes an empirical analysis of the potential of the exportation of China’s high-tech products to the US in application of the time-varying Stochastic frontier model of gravity.Besides,the author also performs a regression test on the stochastic frontier gravity model and the non-efficiency model,and calculates the trade efficiency value of China high-tech products exports to the US and other countries,then analyzes the factors which influence China’s high-tech products export to the US on the basis of above regression test and calculation.Finally,the article puts forward some policy suggestions aiming at the development of China’s high-tech products exports to the US.Based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis,the empirical study indicates that the potential of China’s high-tech products exportation to the US is small.There into,the trade efficiency values have shown increasing trend,but the growth rate is small.The time-varying stochastic frontier gravity model shows that core variables such as the size of economy,the total population significantly promote the trade which China’s high-tech products exportation to the US,while the geographical distance has a negative effect.Non-efficiency trade model results show a positive correlation between non efficiency such as the FTA,liner,and so on and China’s high-tech products exports to the US,while there is a negative correlation between government regulation quality and China’s high-tech products exports to the US.
