Research On The Structure Of China's Scientific Research Cooperation Network Based On Global-local Linkages

Against the background of deepening economic globalization and knowledge economy, various countries and regions in the world is under the influence of knowledge economy and faced with new opportunities and challenges. At present, in order to cope with the challenges and promote the urban sustainable development,innovative cities are developing. The development of innovative cities need scientific research activities of main innovation bodies. Therefore, it is meaningful to promote the innovation of cities by studying on the network of research cooperation.In view of this, using data of renewable energy articles published in cooperation from 2000 to 2014 in the database of Scopus, this paper focuses on the structural and spatial characteristics of the network of research collaboration at three spatial scales.Based on this, the paper analyzes how the global-local contact impact on the network structure, and the mechanism of global-local contact. The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, there are spatial-temporal difference in the evolution of the scientific collaboration network. At the domestic level, developed areas are most closely collaborated each other. The other four regions have more cooperation with North China and East China, while Northwest China and Southwest China has the weakest cooperation with the other regions. The performance of South Central China and Northeast China are comparable. Besides, the network structure of the developed area can reach stable structure earlier, such as North China in 2003, East China in 2005,South Central China in 2003, Northeast China in 2005. Besides northwest China reach a stable structure in2011 and Southwest China is 2009.Secondly, on three levels there are some difference in the structure of the scientific cooperation network of six areas. By comparing the network size and contact on three levels, North China, East China and South Central China generally are located in the top three, Northeast China, Northwest China and Southwest China are the opposite.Network centralization of six areas is reduced, and the networks are in the trend of decentralized. Except for the North China, the value of betweenness centrality of the other regions are decreased. It shows that the importance of central nodes are still growing on the network in North China.Thirdly, the cooperation in global level and local level affects the position of cities in the scientific cooperation network. Based on the analysis of the eighteen cities, it is found that the cooperation of industry-university-research in global level is closer than in local level. It also shows that the connect of industry-university and university-research are important form of cooperation. Connect in global level has the most significant impact on point centrality with positive coefficients. It shows that the more cooperation between the city and foreign countries, the more active in domestic scientific collaboration network. For the value of betweenness.Fourthly, the mechanism of scientific cooperation in international level should be deepen based on key universities and research institutions in the country. From the three aspects of the subject of knowledge creation, the local platformk of knowledge exchange and the international platform of knowledge exchange,this paper analyse the mechanism.Fifthly, this paper argues that governments should enhance the construction of cooperation platform and improve the scientific research level of key universities and scientific research institutions; strengthen the cooperation of scientific research and promote knowledge flow; improve the mechanism of local cooperation and promote the cooperation of industry-university-research; build the center of science and technology innovation based on cities.
