The Impact Of Boudary-spanning Search On Firm Performance Under The New Normal Environment

Under the new normal environment is uncertain and more dynamic,and the dilemma faced by manufacturing companies: increasing consumer demand and preferences, competitors and the growing speed of action is difficult to predict, technology products and services to accelerate the change of development. Therefore, in the context of the new normal environment, to help Chinese enterprises continue maintain a competitive advantage, to achieve long-term development is a very meaningful and important research theme.This test argues that external new knowledge is an indispensable source of innovation in the process of enterprise innovation.Boundary-spanning search plays an important role in acquiring external knowledge. Most scholars have studied the relationship between boundary-spanning search and enterprise innovation, focusing on the impact of cross-border search on product innovation. However, for the manufacturing enterprises, the enterprise product innovation is a part measure of innovation, so the enterprise innovation performance measure innovation, also check the impact of technical search and market search.At the same time, the enterprises absorptive capacity should be matched with the process of external knowledge acquisition, the enterprise knowledge absorptive capacity plays an important role in the relationship between boundary-spanning search and enterprise innovation performance. This paper studies the mediating role of knowledge absorptive capacity on the relationship between boundary-spanning search and enterprise innovation performance. In addition, the new normal environmental uncertainty is an important factor that influence boundary-spanning and knowledge absorptive capacity and therefore, this text further explores in the new normal environment for boundary-spanning search and moderating effects on the relationship between knowledge absorptive ability and enterprise innovation performance.Based on the sample of 196 manufacturing enterprises in Wenzhou,this text constructs a model of the impact of cross border search on enterprise innovation performance. Firstly, market knowledge and technical knowledge of boundary-spanning search activities has a positive impact on innovation performance. Secondly, the knowledge absorptive capacity fully mediating the relationship between technical knowledge of boundary-spanning search activities and innovation performance, has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between market knowledge of boundary-spanning search activities and innovation performance. Third,the new normal environmental uncertain positively moderate the positive relationship between market knowledge of boundary-spanning search activities and innovation performance, positively moderate the boundary-spanning search (market knowledge and technology knowledge)of the positive impact on knowledge absorption capacity. These finding may help to broken the "boundary-spanning of death, death boundary-spanning" judgment, which also provides useful references for boundary-spanning search way options on enterprise.
