Research On The Effect Of Boundary-spanning Search On Business Model Innovation

Under the background of the internet,business model innovation has become an important way for enterprises to gain competitive advantage.Knowledge is an important factor of business model innovation and enterprises can obtain external knowledge needed for the business model innovation through boundary-spanning search.Based on the literature review,we found that previous research focuses on the effect of boundary-spanning search on product innovation and technological innovation and few focuses on the effect of boundary-spanning search on business model innovation.According to different types of knowledge,boundary-spanning Search is divided into Boundary-spanning Search based on technical knowledge and boundary-spanning search based on market knowledge,and then the effect of the two types of boundary-spanning search on business model innovation is explored respectively.Further,the regulation of the contingency factors in the relationship is also explored combined with the actual situation of Chinese enterprises.With the knowledge intensive enterprises as investigation object,we recycle effective questionnaire 338 copies through questionnaire investigation and conduct a series of reliability and validity analysis,correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis in this paper.It shows that boundary-spanning search based on technical knowledge has a positive role in promoting the business model innovation;and boundary-spanning search based on market knowledge also has a positive role in promoting the business model innovation;and both environmental volatility and intensity of competition could adjust these relations.Finally,conclusion of this study is summarized and the future research of boundary-spanning search and business model innovation is prospected.
