The Impact Of Insurance Awareness On The Purchase Of Agricultural Insurance

As a pillar industry of the whole country,agriculture has always been a weak industry,suffering from climate change,environmental pollution and insect attack.This plays a negative impact on agricultural production.As a matter of fact,farmers,in China,lack of the ability to deal with these issues since they do not know how to control risk,resulting in the insufficient development of agricultural insurance.This is not good for the safety and stability of national development.In order to solve this problem,this paper intends to investigate the impact of insurance awareness on the purchase of agricultural insurance by using a questionnaire.The results show that farmers' perception of agricultural insurance has a positive influence on the purchase decision of agricultural insurance,such as the price of agricultural insurance,the type of product,the scope of insurance,the amount of insurance claims and so on.The number of non-agricultural income also has a significant impact on the decision of farmers to buy agricultural insurance,the more non-agricultural income,the less active farmers buy agricultural insurance.However,the risk preference,education level,age,planting experience,planting area and other factors have no significant effect on the purchase of agricultural insurance.Based on the result,we suggest that three aspects would help to improve the situation,in the purpose of strengthening agricultural insurance propaganda,correcting farmers' awareness of agricultural insurance.
