As with the remarkable development in Chinese economy,the role of Chinese commercial banks becomes more indispensable as ever.However,because of the Chinese commercial banks are still in the early development in the banking industry,the shortage of capital accumulation and management experience is an issue which cannot be ignored ever since.Besides,the working efficiency and the service quality in Chinese banking industry is not well as the expectation of customers and investors for which problem is demanding to be resolved.Therefore,in spite of the achievement that Chinese commercial banks made during the last decades,the appraisal systems are still demanding afterward improvement and meanwhile the management in the Chinese commercial banks shall keep probing suitable measures to ground the appraisal system in all part.Based on the above trying in building up the system,the Balance Scorecard,as an effective tool to evaluate the performance of a firm,can be applied to the appraisal system of commercial banks as well for mainly two reasons.Firstly,the Balance Scorecard is to keep a balance of a series of indice in which the demand of internal operation and external management both can be satisfied.Moreover,the Balance Scorecard as a strategic management tool more than a banking performance evaluation framework,is comprehensiely applied to modern companies.As with the applicaition of banking perfromace appraisal progress,the Chinese commercial banks made a remarkable progess in the promotion of banking strategic management.Lastly,the Balance Scorecard shall offer a compatible performance evaluation method in both quality and quantity to reassess the business of commercial banks.Therefore,the inclusion of the Balance Scorecard in Chinese commercial banks in Nanchang is of great significance in enhancing customer satisfaction,improving working efficiency,paving the path to scientific development and promoting strategic management.In order to keep the prudence of the study,the dissesrtation collects experience and studies in foreign countries and then conclude the concept of banking performance appraisal system on the basis of relative concepts and theories.Then the study discuss the feasibility of the introduction of the banking performance appraisal system in Chinese commercial banks and rebuild it in four dimensensions.Moreover,the dissertation will take the CITIC Bank Co.Ltd.Nanchang Branch as a study subject to adjust the appraisal system of traditional Balance Scorecard methodology in which is more suitable to comtemporary banking industry,and to reconstruct a new one to better serve the banking performance appraisal demand.Whenever the domestic researchers are discussing how to apply the Balance Scorecard in the performance evaluation of commercial banks,most of them put focus on the part of theories research to discuss the feasibility of the Balance Scorecard being applied to the Nanchang commercial banks.Meanwhile,the dissertation combines those theories with the practical example of Nanchang branch of the CITIC bank Co.Ltd.to successfully adjust the tool of banking performance appraisal system and to build up a more sound banking performance index evaluation system in the Nanchang branch,which could be called as an innovation. |
