Customers’ selection changed significantly with the development of society.There’re 3 main phases to determine customers’ selection.The first is what we called "Management Phase",this mainly started up from US beginning of last century,lots of companies spent a lot of efforts to define and improve their efficiency to lower down manufacturing cost and produce really huge volume to dominate the market.The second phase we called "Quality Phase",especially that Japanese companies did really good job at this phase.They invested huge resources to design and manufacture high-end with high quality products from year 1960-,this period end till beginning of this century.With the new trend of customers’ selection,we called it third phase "Time to Market Phase",which means really quick-turn,and customers tend to select new-developed,customized products.A product or company will win once it can meet customers’ requirement in terms of TIMING.C.Inc sponsored a program called "OTD2",which means "On Time Delivery in 2 weeks when customer has a demand".Different from traditional strategy,C takes customers’requirement as first priority all the time,whenever customer order,whatever customer order,we’ll fulfill customers’ requirement without any exemption.As a comparison,a traditional company will take into account the requirement from Research and Design team,requirement from Supply Chain and Manufacturing facilities while missing customers’ real request.It has been almost 1 year after we implemented this program OTD2,as a result,we have seen a successful trend in terms of sales,customer satisfaction and our market place of the industry.With such changes,we are more confident that we will eventually get a huge success from this program.This article talks about how to enhance a company’s market position by optimize internal processes,supply chain strategy so as to improve customers’ satisfaction.It also illustrates the importance and feasibility for this program,especially executive support is essential to the success of the whole program.There are some practical examples,and some best practices sharing by C’s partners and manufacturers.It has been more than 1-year operation after the kick-off of this OTD2 program,it has been proven to be a great successful in terms of markets share,customers’ satisfaction and on time delivery.Among those actions taken,most of them are common in the Tel-Communication markets,while almost all companies just take advantage one or few of those actions.What makes the biggest difference is that C Inc.incorporated all related actions and integrated together to make a set of methodology,kick off as a key strategy to serve on time delivery goal.This might not work for every company,but definitely this way could be a good reference.
