Research On Appraisal Of Competitiveness Of Coal Ports Around Bohai Sea

The coal ports around Bohai sea who undertake the important task of transferring coal in China,are an important part of the coal transportation system in China.During the 12th Five-Year Plan period,investment of coal ports around Bohai sea increased quickly.There is a rapid release of coal port capacity,and ports no longer become the bottleneck of coal transportation.On the other hand,there is a significant change that have taken place in China’s coal market supply and demand situation in recent years.The dullness of the coal market has leaded to a decline in trading volume.These two factors led to the increasingly fierce competition between ports around Bohai sea.Appropriate competition can promote the development of ports,but because of the competition becoming disordered,it caused port resource waste and idle,and the port overall benefit serious decline.The operators of coal ports around Bohai sea are different,some belong to local government and some are central-governmental enterprises.So they lack of communication and cooperation mechanism.In the background of the structural reform of the supply front and the reform of state-owned enterprise,in order to improve their efficiency and crack development problems,the coal ports must identify their strengths and weaknesses,and identify their own position.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the competitiveness of Bohai port.Firstly,this paper introduces the background and significance of the research on the competitiveness of ports around Bohai sea,and the main research contents,research methods and ideas.Then this paper defines the concept of port logistics and port competitiveness,and this constitutes the theoretical basis of this dissertation.Then,the paper summarizes the domestic and foreign research on the port competitiveness,and reviews the current research.After that,it introduces the current situation of the operation of the coal ports,and analyzes the main factors affecting the competitiveness of coal port from four aspects of natural conditions and hardware facilities,location factors,operation ability and development potential.Then,the evaluation model of the competitiveness of coal port is established,and author evaluates the competitiveness of seven major coal ports around Bohai sea area by entropy weight method.Finally,combined with the evaluation results,the paper puts forward some strategic suggestions to improve the competitiveness of coal ports.It is suggested that the coal ports around Bohai sea should pay attention to improve the level of operation and management,improve the port function and expand the supply chain value-added services.In addition,it is necessary to accelerate port integration in order to improve the overall competitiveness of the coal port.
